    Trouble OC'ing Q6600 & 8800GT

i've done a lot of experimenting and even at stock clocks on the core and shader (500/1500), the ram will start to artifact on it's own at anything above 930 mhz :| i also tried the next 54 mhz step as you said but i start artifacting after about 30 mins in atitool :( at this point i'm ok...

    Trouble OC'ing Q6600 & 8800GT

My final fully stable OC is the following: 3.2ghz @ 1.4125 Vcore (1.3250 Vid) w/ pencil mod Temps idle/load: 48C/66C (75C w/ IBT) these are the hottest temps of all 4 cores For cooling, lapping made 0 difference in temps. I've got a Noctua NH-U12P. I think it's probably my case holding me back...

    Trouble OC'ing Q6600 & 8800GT

It's more of a boredom thing ... my car is in the shop for 2 weeks or so and I need something to play with :) And doodoo... my video card is still artifacting in ATITool at stock clocks :| I wonder if having no HS on the voltage regulators is causing it (I've got an S1 cooler and it didn't come...

    Trouble OC'ing Q6600 & 8800GT

Still couldn't get it to work so I ended up using a CD to boot... got it to flash successfully :D I'm hoping it's more stable at stock speeds; testing that out now. Also bought some sandpaper ... my cpu temps are around 70-74C under IBT (57-59C real world), hoping that some lapping will cut...

    Trouble OC'ing Q6600 & 8800GT

Actually I got all the programs ready for overvolting the 8800GT but I just can't seem to get the HP Drive Key utility to run under Windows 7

    Trouble OC'ing Q6600 & 8800GT

Happily stable now @ 3.2 ghz Vcore=1.41250 Probably won't bother with OC'ing my 8800GT as it's artifacting at stock clocks in ATITool and I can't figure out how to make a bootable USB key in WIndows 7 (I don't have a floppy)

    Trouble OC'ing Q6600 & 8800GT

Just realized why it pays to do more reading before starting ... I was using the latest BIOS which many have found to be unstable (SZ1K) I went back to SZ1I and also did the pencil mod which seems to be working. Hopefully this will help my stability issues. Running BurnTest again @ 1.425V...

    Trouble OC'ing Q6600 & 8800GT

BurnTest just failed @ 13/20 on max settings with Vcore=1.5... gonna try bumping my Vspp up from 1.4V to 1.45V and run again.

    Trouble OC'ing Q6600 & 8800GT

Yeah I figured it might be that, plus I read that the RAM I have sucks for OC'ing ... good thing I just put a new fan on my NB. So far so good though, and my Large FFT has been stable for 3 hours. Going to reboot and check out what voltages are being output in BIOS...

    Trouble OC'ing Q6600 & 8800GT

Ok Bababooey I just tried your advice and here are my results: 1.5 Vcore 2.1 Vmem Everything else Auto 8x400 linked&synced (3.2ghz) 4-4-4-15-2T (spec) Enabled TM1 & TM2 Prime stable for 8.5 hrs with Small FFT Running Large FFT right now and currently stable for 1hr+ Temps: Core 0/1 = 72C max...

    Trouble OC'ing Q6600 & 8800GT

    Trouble OC'ing Q6600 & 8800GT

Okay I tried again with memory at default timing (5-5-5-15) and Vcore=1.5V and Core #3 fatal errored again after 58 minutes. Max temp was 70C. Is there any other voltage I can try bumping up to get stable? My next try will be for 3.0 ghz unlinked so I can run memory at 800 mhz and test...

    Trouble OC'ing Q6600 & 8800GT

    CPU: Q6600 (G0) on EVGA 750i board @ 3.2Ghz 4x1GB OCZ XTC Platinum Rev. 2 @ 4-4-4-15-2T 800Mhz (Vmem=2.1V) Vcore=1.45V Vfsb=1.4V Vspp=1.4V Linked/synced 1600 QDR @ 8x multi - all CPU spread disabled, C1E disabled, etc. I can't get Prime95 stable, mostly Core #3 fatal errors after a couple...

    SLI Dual Monitor Support

I like having my 2nd monitor on while gaming so that I can chat etc. I tried putting a 3rd PCI ATI card in and my Windows absolutely hated it (it would freeze on startup). I guess my only choice right now is to sell it.

    SLI Dual Monitor Support

Right now I've got two 8800GT's but I can't use them in SLI mode because I'm running dual monitors (I already tried the 3rd PCI video card thing and it didn't work for me). Should I sell my 2nd 8800GT or wait for driver support? Anyone know if nVidia is even close to a solution?
