Case open or closed for general use?

I prefer the side panels on but I can see why one would take them off during gaming on a hot afternoon. As for testing, I always leave the side panel on to reflect everday use. I don't have to worry about reaching CMOS jumper thanks to my uGuru panel.

    2.8GHz@1.65V+xp-90C=60C@load. Bad install or normal?

I don't think it runs on full load and 62C all day.

    2.8GHz@1.65V+xp-90C=60C@load. Bad install or normal?

You and I have pretty much the same motherboard. I don't know if you are aware that a new BIOS (1.7) has been released by ABIT that supposedly corrects temperature sensor problems but many people (including me) are pretty skeptical about whether it fixes an error or just simply subtracts 10C...

The beginnings of a bong/nuclear cooler

Yes but a bong cooler is an evaporative cooler, whatever coolant you use needs to evaporate. With oil, its lighter molecules will evaporate quicker than the heavier. This could lead to problems in a system like this.

    bigwater cooling system... computer overheating..????!?!?!

try reversing the 120 so it draws outside air through rad and into the case. I believe madshrimps tried this and found better results.

    3200+ A64 Venice, overclocking troubles

Well, something is definately wierd. At this point you have to consider your best possible results even if you solve the memory problem and here they are knowing your ram can't go past 220mhz. both with HT freq x3... Setup 1: 265x10 = 2650mhz, DDR333 5:6 ratio ==> 2650/12= 220.8mhz...

    3200+ A64 Venice, overclocking troubles

Okay by running a DDR200 ram divider (1:2 ratio) you effectively took the RAM out of the equation and you said you reached 300 HTT and 2.6ghz. This leads me to believe that you used a x8.5 multiplier which means your ram was running at 150mhz at that point. Yet, so far you haven't mentioned...

    3200+ A64 Venice, overclocking troubles

im trying to think up of some ideas for you but one question, how do you expect to get 2.4 with 200 HTT? Doesn't the 3200+ have the highest multiplier locked at 10?

Is this the best she can do?

I am planning on getting a better cooler, probably the zalman 9500 when it comes out. For now my venice seems to handle it okay.

Is this the best she can do?

I am getting the same temps as you but then again I have stock air. Is 57C load really that bad? vcore at 1.57 btw.
