2.56 GHz at 1.10v
Idle: 36°C
Load: 49°C
Ambient: The thermostat downstairs says its 18°C, but it's a bit warmer upstairs in my room.
My e6400 could probably be overclocked even higher at this voltage, but it's already fast enough for my purposes. ;) Cooling is a Scythe Ninja with a...
I rewired all the Yate Loon fans in my case for 5v, so now my computer is virtually inaudible from a distance of one meter (I can still make out the hard drive spinning if I listen hard enough in a near silent ambient noise level).
My cpu temps at idle and load rose only 2 degrees...
HOLY CRAP! I just got centered output to work correctly. I'm typing this at 1440x900, with black bars surounding the image. ;)
What I did was create a custom resolution (1440x900) in Powerstrip, select centered output in the Nvidia control panel, and then change the resolution to 1440x900...
Updated drivers from 84.21 to 91.47. I'm now able to select centered output and fixed aspect ratio scaling without an out of range message. However, selecting a different resolution under these modes still results in a scaled screen.
Oh well, at least there's some progress. :(
I get very noticeable tearing without enabling vsync, but I also can't stand the abrupt frame rate changes from vsync. :( This why I'm giving triple buffering a try, and from what I've read, DXTweaker is currently the only way to force triple buffering in D3D games.
I'm having trouble...
Yeah, I tried routing the cable behind the motherboard tray in my P180, and when I finally managed to close the side panel, it was bulging outwards by an inch or more.
I was afraid I would permanantly damage the case this way (not to mention it looked ugly), so I found a different way...
Okay, I've been diagnosing the cause of the BSOD and it seems to be an unrelated problem. Apparently, the driver "aegisp.sys" is corrupted. Anyone have any idea what this is and what to do about it?
And also, does anyone know why I'm getting the rounding errors in pi?
EDIT: I'm editing...
Well, it isn't the vcore. I still get a rounding error in Pi at stock voltage. To make things worse, the computer soon BSOD'd with this error message: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291810/
What does this mean?
I'm currently running an E6400 and P5B Deluxe, and so far I'm extremely impressed with the overclocking potential of my E6400. I have it undervolted to 1.1v, and even then it's still going strong at 2.712 Ghz (339x8). I didn't expect it to overclock that much at such a low voltage. I have a...
