    My crisys with Crysis 3

I recently bought a Asus GTX 660 and am very happy with it. It's very quiet, more so than most other graphics cards I've had, and it plays every game with ease. I can't speak to how it'll run Crysis 3 as I've not played that one, but the Asus one is a solid choice.

    Worth upgrading Radeon 4890?

Hi, I'm considering upgrading my 4890 to a Geforce GTX 560ti and was curious as to whether or not you guys on this forum think it would be a worthwhile upgrade? My current system is a Q6600 @ 3ghz, 4 gigs of DDR2 ram. Any input or thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.

Q6600 or E8400: Which is more future proof?

Yeah, I just got the Q6600 at Microcenter for $200, was an amazing deal. Anyways, thanks for all the replies guys. Gonna be putting my system together this weekend, wish me luck!

Q6600 or E8400: Which is more future proof?

Hey, thanks for all the replies, guys. I guess it's going to depend on if the local Microcenter ever gets the E8400 in this week, as they're the only place selling it as a reasonable price. If they do, I'll probably get that. If not, then I'll just nab a Q6600.

    CyberpowerPC safe to buy from?

The computer I'm on now is a cyberpower. I bought it almost exactly 4 years ago and have not had any problems with it. As such, I can't really say anything about customer support or anything, as I've not actually dealt with them. The system has been rock solid, though. I can say that if I...

Q6600 or E8400: Which is more future proof?

I'm building a PC shortly and would like the processor that would be the most beneficial in the long run. I know right now the E8400 is better, but it seems a bit part of that is because of the current lack of Quad core optimization (I'm talking mostly about games, btw). So I ask, which...

I'm going nuts trying to find a budget case! Already have a psu for it

690 seconded. High quality case, and looks sexy too.

My pictures of the Cooler Master 690 (the new $50 uber-case!)

You can get the 690 at Microcenter.com for $20 after a mail in rebate. Where I got mine. http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0265143

What does the future hold for the 8800gs?

Could get an 8800gt for less then that. Better card, too. Really, though 9600's should be going for like $160 or so at the most.

    HD3870X2's at Microcenter for 383.00

Yep, went to the one in tustin, and it was the same price. Still too expensive for me, though. Just got the 8800gt for 220, also a heck of a deal.

If I order a GA-P35-DS3R, will it be bios ready for 45nm?

I picked one of these up from the local Frys and it says very clearly that it's Rev. 2.1 on a side-sticker. Should be alright.

Tips for a first time builder.

Thanks man. So, how long does it usually take to build a system from scratch? What's the normal time frame? I know mine will probably take longer than the average, as it's my first time, but I'm just curious.

Tips for a first time builder.

Hey guys, I'm a regular lurker around here, I read but rarely post. Anyways, I'm prepping for my first build, got most of the parts figured out (E8400, Geforce 8800GT, Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L, Corsair CMPSU-550VX), but I'm not here for suggestions about the components I've chosen (though they...
