Official Dell 2407WFP Thread - Reviews, Revisions, Screenies

I must also echo the previous poster's glorification of this beauty. Now there is banding... minimal horizontal while the vertical banding is heavy, and at times distracting, but the areas it affects me are minimal. It is evident on the backgrounds of web pages, and only when I am looking for...

1080p video playback on Conroe e6400 specifically.

For the Apple content, HD playback is entirely CPU-based. I'm not entirely sure if it takes advantage of both CPUs, but I can almost play it back smoothly on my 3200+.

Upgrading from 3200+ to 4200+ merely enough to play HD movies?

But I'm not running anything else. I mean, I have a program called Process Explorer open and MPC is the only program using any CPU cycles. Occasionally "System" or "Deferred Procedure Calls" will eat 1.5% CPU for a second or two, but the total is negligible. It is the program itself, with the...

Upgrading from 3200+ to 4200+ merely enough to play HD movies?

OK, well I am using all 4 SATA ports, so I guess a decent overclock is out of the question. These movies are [insert certain legally shady form of movie acquisition] captured from television and encoded to 720p resolution. They are in .mkv format. I use Media Player Classic, but my main...

Upgrading from 3200+ to 4200+ merely enough to play HD movies?

Unfortunately I am on an AGP motherboard, meaning there are no "cheap" 7000-series nVidia cards. I have been looking for a 7300GS or the like in AGP format but cannot. Do they make them?

Upgrading from 3200+ to 4200+ merely enough to play HD movies?

I am not overclocked, nor could I be if I tried. I am using some shitty OCZ value ram that won't go 10mhz over stock... and I think the MSI board I use is famous for bad overclocks.

Upgrading from 3200+ to 4200+ merely enough to play HD movies?

I mostly use my computer to watch movies and need to know if the mere upgrade from a singlecore 3200+ to a dualcore 3800+ or 4200+ would enable me to play hi-def, mostly x264 stuff, easily enough. At the moment during playback MPC with CoreAVC, AC3Filter and Haali Media Splitter (apparently the...

My 12v rail, according to Speedfan, is at 13.01v

I've never had any problems with the board. Actually, besides the occasional hanging on restart, it's been the most stable board I've ever had. Performs really well too.

My 12v rail, according to Speedfan, is at 13.01v

As title says. I replaced my defective graphics card, which kept my 12v rail hovering at 12.7v, which I thought was high, but this is too much, right? What is the disadvantage of having such a reading? As well, my 3.3v is sitting at 3.15-3.2v. My PS is an Enermax EG465P, which is rated at...

    Radio through speakers

My speakers do that as well. It has to do with unshielded cables; when near enough to a radio station, normal copper wire attracts FM signals. To prevent this, get shielded cable. It's more expensive, but will get rid of the problem.
