Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Not me. I just upgraded to Windows 7 a few months ago and I love it. Windows 8 seems like a desperate attempt to revive the desktop when smartphones and tablets are gaining market share.
Renamed the thread.
Current contenders are the 9600gt (thanks BababooeyHTJ) and the HD 4770. I like the latter because it performs a bit better while drawing less power.
Supposedly I can only run the lower power version of the 9600gt. I'd like to keep my current PSU because I don't want to...
I'm working with an older setup and I'm trying to make it last as long as I can.
I have a Sony Vaio VGC-RB44G with the stock graphics card that comes with it. I have a Pentium 4 2.8ghz processor (hyper threaded) and 2gb RAM. I'm using a 15 in. monitor at 1024 x 768 but I'd like to upgrade...
I'm fed up with my uncomfortable headphones and I can't take them anymore! They are really tight and the tiny ear pads smash my ears against my head, making them painful after only 30 minutes. Curse you, ATH-M2X!!
This time around, I'm looking for circumaural headphones. I really want some cans...
Ugh, this Black Friday frenzy is insane. It went out of stock in every store around me, including the next town over, in a matter of hours.
I decided on a brick and mortar store for ease of returning because I've heard a lot of reports of Virgin Mobiles' service being kind of spotty as of late...
The title pretty much sums it up.
I was wondering if I should order a Virgin Mobile phone online or buy it at Radioshack (brick and mortar). Which way would be cheaper? I heard Radioshack adds taxes and stuff to the plans. Do they charge an activation fee (Virgin Mobile online doesn't)...
Why is it so cheap? Is there a premium for Intel processors?
The reason I ask is because despite being stuck with this P4, I've been really satisfied. My last AMD was painful so I'd like to stay with Intel.
I see builds all the time with 7.1 cards... are they only necessary if you will be hooking up 7.1 channel speakers? If I just plan to use some basic speakers and/or headphones, will on-board audio be okay?
I should have mentioned this earlier but I have a no-name Intel motherboard (I have a Sony Vaio RB44G)... According to CPU Z it's the D915GRO.
Would it support dual core processors? I have read some posts on other forums saying it's too old but I'd like to get another opinion.
