New LCD/Plasma for PC / Movies

Reading this on Sony 32XBR6, can't speak for plasma, but LCD's are working great for me. I might not be well versed in the subject, but the possible burn in with plasmas will likely always keep me away from using one as a monitor. The current Kuro Elite is otherwise the most amazing set I have...

Anyone useing a 32" 1080p HDTV for Main PC Monitor?

I am using the Sony 32XBR6, and I really like it. I also have a 30" Apple Cinema Display. What I really like about the Sony is how I can recline in my chair and still read really easily. Although I love the 2560x1600 resolution of the Apple, 1920x1080 is more than enough for most tasks.. I...

    30" advice rehash

w00t, I too like imported beer. I have the Sony 32XBR6 (1080p) & the Apple 30" w/ the rest in my sig. I have enjoyed gaming on the Apple at 1920x1200 and 1920x1080 on the Sony. They are both a religious experience. Unless you need the screen real estate, I would go for the Sony. If you are...

30 inch and up thread! Post Pics of your huge displays!

Just thought I would go ahead and post one of my favorite setups, although it is not mine. In my online poker playing prime, I had dual Apple 30"s and a Dell 2007FP in portrait.. I have since seperated the 30"s, as I am using one on a PC I just built, and the other is still with the G5...

30 inch and up thread! Post Pics of your huge displays!

In my opinion, this is a GREAT looking room. It kinda has a cozy 'control room' feel to it. I could see myself spending a LOT of time in here and successfully shutting the world out.. Great Job! How do you like the 32XBR6 for pc gaming? I bought one when they first came out (1st Best Buy...

    Silent 30" LCD

I have had the Apple 30" for a few months. I have had no problems with it. It runs completely silent, however, I have seen ONE thread about a buzzing power supply. The power brick isn't a part of the monitor, and mine is always under my desk. I have never heard it. ARTX

    Show Your LCD(s) setups!!!

This is certainly a little bit premature, but I couldn't resist. Here are some pics of my displays mid build. These photos were taken yesterday at my new house near campus. They will mainly be used for computer and console gaming around my desk area. . On the left, Sony 1080p 32XBR6. On...

I (think I) have chosen a few components, help me fill in the blanks..

Today I was able to get my 2 monitors mounted for my new Vista setup that I will be going to be building in the coming weeks. So to recap, here are the uses for the 2 monitors in regards to my upcoming build.. -Apple 30" CD (Internet and other misc computer tasks, strategy based games...

I (think I) have chosen a few components, help me fill in the blanks..

I am certainly a n00b, but wouldn't I want it to not send a signal to the other monitor? That way it can use all of its GPU abilities to the game its running on the primary monitor??

I (think I) have chosen a few components, help me fill in the blanks..

SC, If I am able to do what I had originally planned, then I see the logic in going for a 4870x2. Down the line will my setup by chance be able to support another 4870x2? What are the foreseeable weakspots? I guess the question is will my motherboard be able to handle 'crossfired' 4870x2s?

I (think I) have chosen a few components, help me fill in the blanks..

My reasoning for this was so that when I wasn't gaming, I would have a GPU devoted to each monitor (30" ACD and 32" Sony XBR6). Then, when I ready to game, I would just go into the control panel and select the Sony as my primary monitor, then turn on Crossfire (which would turn off the 30" ACD...
