My school-issued TI-86 was stolen and I need to buy another one to give back to my school. So I'm looking for as cheap as possible, does not have to be in perfect condition, just needs to work. PM or post if you have an offer, thanks.
Hey, the fan arrived today! I wasn't expecting it until next week! SVC rocks!
Anyway, I'm idling at 45C. Awesome. Also, it didn't come with screws, surprisingly, so it's a good thing I kept the ones that that guy sent me to use with my fan that broke.
Yep, exactly.
Anyway, this new one is 30 CFM and 39 dBA. I'm not sure what my current stock AMD fan is in either of those departments, so we'll see how this new fan performs with my retail heatsink.
I considered it, but I couldn't really get to the circuit board. I had to access the bottom of it, not the top, so taking the fan off wouldn't help, and there wasn't any real way to access the bottom, all those crosspieces are there.
Sorry about that anger, I've cooled down a bit now. I gave in and ordered another lower cfm but quieter fan from SVC, this one. Good?
So now, the first fan I bought for $2.50, and the screws I bought for $1.81 at Lowe's, and the screws I got that actually worked from that guy online, and...
Well I could shoot myself.
My screws came today (a day earlier than expected), and they fit like a dream. Perfect. I then notice that the black power wire on my fan is broken off. I tried and tried to reconnect it, stuck it back inside, electrical tape, everything. NOTHING. So after...
I may have to do that PERMANENTLY if the screws I'm getting tomorrow or Thursday don't work. I have lots of zip ties, I wonder what I could secure it to.....
No such luck. :(
Tried it, the only screws Lowe's and Home Depot had were either machine screws that were the right length and diameter, but too small of thread spacing, or sheet metal screws, with the proper thread spacing and diameter, but too short, plus the pointed bottoms prevented...
Here's some pics of the fan. Please explain what you mean by putting it in through the bottom without using the top hole.

I must be really confused. There's a flat piece on top of the fan, and a flat piece on the bottom. Each has four holes that are lined up with each other. There are eight actual holes, but only four "shafts" inside, since two holes go to one shaft, one on each end. How am I supposed to use...
Hi, I have an Athlon XP 2100+ with the RETAIL fan and heatsink. My fan's dying, the RPMs are changing all the time and the temperatures are fluctuating like crazy, so I bought a new Delta fan that does 37 cfm that's 60x60x25mm. My current fan (the stock AMD one) is only 10mm thick. So this one...
