Post a screenshot of your linux!

Nothing too fancy, just Ubuntu 7.10 with a custom theme to go along with the wallpaper. I use it way more then Mac OS X and Windows though. Don't think I'll ever buy another Mac or copy of Windows again. I wish .png files were smaller, damn jpeg killed the quality.

    $200 to spend

I agree with conghelach, save your cash. The Acer AL2051W is about $290 @ Newegg. It has a P-MVA, and it blows every TN monitor I've seen out of the water. I'm never going buying a TN again after having the 2051. The improved viewing angles alone are worth the higher price IMO.

omg LOL guess what I've been gaming on

Take a bunch of pics of the 2051! I'm going to be buying one in mid-August if everything goes to plan...

    MacBook Pro or PC Laptop?

Budget? I like Apple's stuff, and I think OS X is one, if not the best OS in the world. But the Macbook Pros are massivly overpriced. You can get a PC laptop, with specs more or less the same as the top of the line Macbook Pro, and it'll cost over $400 less (Example). If being able to use OS X...

    How is this 20" Acer?

I agree with... Everyone. Get the 2051. I'm planning on buying one next month. As far as the PSU goes, I can't be sure of your power requirments without knowing the specs of this box, but since your were planning on using a Cooler Master POS, it can't be too power hungry. So, this PSU It's an...

Budged is around ~$100. What's the best bang for the buck?

Reference cooler isn't passive. You could get a passive Gigabtye card like kirbyrj said, or one of these, and whatever 7600gt is cheapest, and have a completely silent card.

Budged is around ~$100. What's the best bang for the buck?

    Well, there's a $100 budget. So that leaves $25 for a passive/quiet aftermarket hsf.

7600gs? They're about $75-80 on Newegg right now.

    X1950 GT PRO or XT?

The 1950xt is the fastest of the 3. It's by far the best choice as long as your PSU can handle it.

    7900gs 512mb vs 1950xt 256mb

Right, new problem. From everything I've read, ATi cards and Linux don't play well together, and I'm going to use a Linux distro as my primary OS. Not sure which one yet, since I still have alot to try, but Ubuntu or one of it's derivatives is in the top 3. Windows will only be used for gaming...

    22" Widescreen LCD for GAMING

I'll try to dig up a source. I've heard a bunch of people talk about this... Here we go: http://www.behardware.com/news/8930/first-look-at-the-samsung-sm-226cw.html So there's a 99% chance they'll be using their panels. Until alot of product gets into the channel, we won't be able to...

    22" Widescreen LCD for GAMING

You're screwed when it comes to viewing angles. If it's really important, you'll have to either step up to a 24" display, or step down to a 20" one so you can get something other then a TN panel. TN's aren't that good at color reproduction either, atleast when compared to S-IPS and P-MVA...

I've heard the AL2051W has backlight bleeding problems, any truth to this?
