BIOS Software Coming to the End of the Road

Curious, what exactly has been stopping this from happening for so long? Laziness?

ATI comparable to GTX 285 2GB

I'd grab the 5850, or just wait, the 6000 series will come soon enough and at the very least drop the price of the 5000 series. And 1GB is most likely fine for 2560x1600. There's a reason the 2GB models are marketed toward eyefinity, you really don't see a difference otherwise.

    Vsync Input Lag Questions

The problem with tearing is that it adds new information to the top of the screen, and that's about it. There are some things tearing will never show you, and some things it can confuse you about. I'd rather just not deal with it and take my 8ms (max @ 120hz) extra input lag. There are other...

    Vsync Input Lag Questions

Domingo, is your refresh rate set to 60hz? Drivers updated? I have practically the same system (i7 920, 5870, Win7 x64) and I've never seen anything like that.

    Vsync Input Lag Questions

I played Farcry 2 for a tiny bit, but I play TF2 almost nightly and I've never seen anything like that. I think I know what you mean though, some sort of stutter where it looks like you've moved backward for a frame? I'd try reseting your 3D settings to default in CCC. I'll check on other...

Can't say I've ever felt it or even heard of it. What games do you see this on?

    Vsync Input Lag Questions

Exactly, there's one thing I still want to test with triple buffering though. When I was recording on fraps w/ vsync my frames would always drop to 60 and then eventually 30, and I think that has to do with the double buffering. Triple buffering might fix that. Yes, vsync on a 120hz monitor...

These are the same people who won't buy anything at "full price" anyway. They would just end up buying used copies or games from friends anyway, there's no difference.

    Vsync Input Lag Questions

Great thread about triple buffering (use it with vsync): http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=366413 No, it does not contribute to input lag any more than vsync does normally. It does stop vsync from limiting you to 30 fps when you can actually render 55 (but not 60). Ati Tray...

Why Serious Gamers Won't Go for Wireless Mice

I used to use a Logitech MX Revolution and I never had a problem with it unless I forgot for several days to charge it overnight. It didn't offer a particular advantage to me by being wireless but I liked the button layout so it was perfect.

    PC Hardware Outsells Consoles

First, wrong discrete, nice job Blue's News :p But I think this counts way more than it should, many laptops are coming with slightly better graphics these days that I still wouldn't want to play games on.
