    Intel Core 2 Gaming Performance

Simulator games have lots of pretty taxing physics and AI calculations. Advanced flight models require a lot of CPU power and Aircraft designers for example run their calculations on very powerfulhardware and AFAIK not in real time. The total number of active units in a campaign mission can be...

7900GT just froze up twice while playing HL2:Deathmatch.

Try downclocking the memory a LOT and see if it helps. If it does, you're likely to be suffereing from the legendary 7900 problem just like a few others.

New info on 7900 series faults!!! - DEFECTIVE voltage regulators!

Well there's one thing about the alleged voltage regulator issue that puzzles me. Why should only hte memory be affected? Underclocking memory typically solves most of the problems the 7900 series cards suffer from, but core clocks seem to have little effect on anything. Shouldn't the core...

    GeForce 7900 Inferno – Burn Baby Burn @ [H]

I did a quick and supremely scientific statistical analysis of the EVGA thread where people report their bad cards. Overclocked GT cards seemed to suffer lots of problems (because they're so numerous?), but when comparing GTX cards I counted something like 5+ overclocked cards versus 30+ stock...

    GeForce 7900 Inferno – Burn Baby Burn @ [H]

This thread and my two dead (non-EVGA) stock GTX cards say it's not just an OC problem: http://www.evga.com/community/messageboard/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15366 It would be interesting to hear nVidia's opinion on the dying stock cards. I don't know how many of them are actually dying, but they are...
