    WD External HD Problems...

The firmware update seems to be doing the trick. For now. Thank you.

    WD External HD Problems...

Hello, I have an external hard drive that's driving me bonkers. It's a Western Digital MyBook, 1TB, USB 3.0. It worked without issue on my desktop computer for over a year. It's still working without issue on my laptop and on friend's computers. However, on my desktop, one of two things...

Restoring RAID 0 array after format?

I had some problems with my Windows 7 files getting corrupted on my system drive. I unplugged my two 1TB drives in RAID 0 during this process, and had to restore BIOS defaults. The result is that my disks are out of RAID 0, and inaccessible from Windows due to being in unrecognized format...

Google Chrome, AIM, Winamp... all crash after launch.

Okay... I went out and purchased a 2TB external harddrive to backup my 160g storage drives so I can format and reinstall Windows 7. I can NOT get Windows to recognize the external hard drive. It keeps giving me a "USB Device Not Recongized" error. Googling a fix for this issue said I...

Google Chrome, AIM, Winamp... all crash after launch.

Yeah, they're RAID 0 JBOD. I guess I'm going to have to get all the data off them, then set them back up. Either in RAID 0 again or not. I had them set up like that for the extra speed. Can't stand slow transfer rates across hard drives.

Google Chrome, AIM, Winamp... all crash after launch.

Would it likely be the system drive that's failing? I don't see any problems with the storage drives. I certainly hope it's not a failing system drive. It's just over 1.5 years old, so beyond warranty. My first SSD, too. So much for reliability. EDIT - If I simply unplug the storage...

Google Chrome, AIM, Winamp... all crash after launch.

Rather than doing a backup, I was simply going to unplug my two 1TB raid 0 drives where all my data is stored, and do a clean format of my 60g system drive, half of which is Windows 7 anyway. The ATI drivers in the log concern me, because I've never used an ATI card on this machine. I know...

Google Chrome, AIM, Winamp... all crash after launch.

http://www.filedropper.com/cbs There's a link to my CBS.log file that sfc /scannow produced. And yeah, I've already reinstalled the .NET framework. The problems persist. I can't make any sense out of what's going on. I've been spoiled with how reliable this machine has been for...

Google Chrome, AIM, Winamp... all crash after launch.

I've run CCleaner, chkdsk, and sfc /scannow several times each. The latter is the only one that finds any problems. It says there are corrupt files, and that more information is available in the CBS.log file. However, notepad and word are both now programs that crash when I attempt to open...

Google Chrome, AIM, Winamp... all crash after launch.

Hey all, Not sure if this is the appropriate forum, since I'm not sure if I'm having a software or hardware problem. About two weeks ago, after a restart, AIM would no longer launch. If I attempted to start the program, it would begin to start, then immediately close without a message. I...

    Horizontal Lines in games/videos?

Still driving me nuts. Anyone know what causes this?

    Horizontal Lines in games/videos?

Also, my monitor keeps resetting itself to 59hz refresh, instead of 60. Not that this seems to change anything. Monitor's a NEC EA261wm.

    Horizontal Lines in games/videos?

There's an actual line. About 3/4 toward the top, just as the above poster describes. It did it on my old monitor, and this new one on a new system.

    Horizontal Lines in games/videos?

I don't know how to describe this better than the title would suggest. When scrolling or otherwise quickly panning the screen, a single horizontal line appears across the image. Same thing happens when watching certain videos, especially higher quality ones. Is this a graphics issue? A...

    Optimizing new build...

Since I don't know where to post a problem with.. general hardware.. I'll ask in this thread. Seems this new build is having explorer crash a lot, after I'll notice that my sound isn't working. When I try to adjust the volume, explorer and such will crash. What could be causing this? I did...
