Thank you for that. Surprisingly, my monitor converged when it was supposed to and the bars blended very, very close to perfect when I moved the sharpness down a setting. (the image did look perfect in IE, but every so slightly off in firefox)
I also tweaked my cleartype settings as well...
I just got the Asus VW266h, and the text (like on word documents) seems a bit off to me. I can't quite peg it, and a friend of mine says I'm being crazy, but the text on my PVA panel siting right next to it looks quite a bit better to my eyes. It may be the lighting in my room, which I might...
Buy.com has the Asus VW266H, and I think it's actually $5 cheaper there. Also, they supposedly take back the monitor within 30 days even if it only has 1 or 2 dead pixels (at least that's what the buy.com CSR told me when I called them last week about this monitor. I'd still call them for...
Will do flylow. It might not be anytime in the immediate future, but a calibrator is definitely something I'll be on the lookout for. And albeit I do get a bit critical, I do always try to objective in my reviews.
Also, I started reading about benefits of bias lighting. I tried a little...
My questions as of now is how does overhead lighting, or a floor lamp behind me affect bias lighting. It seems to make my my room too bright no matter what setting I use (I have a 50/100/150 watt lamp with a corresponding bulb). I'd like to just turn it off, but I thought dark rooms were bad...
I've been wondering what are some of the best tips, or guidelines, to follow when it comes to lighting your computer room and the area around your monitors. I've seen a couple posts about bias lighting and how that helps. It's something I'm definitely looking into, but as of right now I have...
I think buy.com may have the best return policy. Haven't tried it, but supposedly they take it back with 30 days even if there's only 1 dead pixel. At least that's what the CSR told me when I called.
I too have the Asus VW266H. How do you like the Asus when comparing it to a PVA panel? I've had all sorts of fits trying to get it to match my 'cheap' PVA panel, as witnessed by my thread here.
To the op, I do think the Asus monitor is a good monitor, especially if you don't have a non-TN...
Occasionally the Asus does look better (like on this forum), but when it comes to watching movies or Hulu, the Asus is definitely pale in comparison to the Soyo. Yes the Asus does have 5 different settings, which are extremely easy to switch to btw, so I might just need to configure one for...
I think both the Asus and the Soyo produce 16.7 million colors, but you may be referring to color gamut %'s which I don't know. If their color gamut %'s are too far off wouldn't attempts to calibrate them be essentially useless? Or, I guess it'll get 'em 'close enough.
What are the color...
So the monitors may be correctly calibrated, but wouldn't they still look different because of the the different panel types? Like the computer may 'think' it's calibrated correctly, but wouldn't it still look different to the human eye?
Or do the LCD calibrators somehow account for this...
I'd rather have 2 of the Soyo's, but they are now bankrupt. I think it's b/c they sold such a quality monitor at such a cheap price. (By no means is my soyo a pretty monitor, but as I'm now learning, the panel and the colors are just so damn good.)
Well, I'd be inclined to believe you, but...
I have a 24" Soya Topaz S monitor and now the 25.5" Asus VW266h. I recently bought it after reading a lot of great reviews on it (some of which were on here). I got the Asus yesterday and started adjusting it. A lot of the reviewers stated that it does have a blue tint to the screen out of...
