I have a Raid5 array with 7 x 2TB HDD. One drive failed and the raid started to rebuild. At 41%, it jamed and there was a timeout error count to 1 on one drive. If I change that drive, the raid won't rebuild. Instead, it show the Raid with one missing drive. Any idea?
I have some WD black on my adaptec and they work fine, I even ask adaptec before buying them. I didn't ask Areca for the WD Green. I was told by several people to not bother buying WD raid... I guess they were wrong. I'll change them with time!
Yes volumes on the adaptec are fine. I'll try changing the cable between the expander and the areca to see if it helps. Why would some HDD like WD would be incompatible ? It is not like its an unknown company.

I have an areca 1880ix-24 running with windows server 2008 R2. Firmware and bootrom is 1.49. For some reason and at random times, all the volumes disappears. When I log to the web interface, it is like the card is empty, no more HDDs. I need to reboot to make it work again. Anyone ever...
I ordered a second Adaptec 52445 about 2 months ago but it is still BO. I will probably cancel my order. What is the best 24 internal ports that can go with the sas expander ? The ARECA ARC-1880-ix-24 ?
Also, anyone had issue with two different Raid cards in one computer ?
