Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I kinda have to go back on what I said, it's not stable. =\ Ran Prime95 blend overnight and was good this morning, but earlier today she crashed in BF3. What worries me though is it's not hard locking/BSOD, just the 670's display drivers are crashing out.. So I dropped her down to 4ghz @ 1.20...
Sounds like some weren't too lucky with their CPU's... Was able to get my 4770K stable 4.6 ghz @ 1.25v with a Gigabyte UD5H board. Didn't do any deep tweaking, just multiplier and vcore.
Like someone said earlier, depends how much you value SATA3/USB3. But also if need the extra CPU power. With a 950 @ 4.2HT and GTX670, 64 player BF3 games was choppy. Even some 32 player games would slow down if it got crazy, but I play at 1600x1000@110hz.
Looking at BF3's performance...
ASUS DirectCU TOP, EVGA FTW, or Gigabyte's Windforce. I don't have experience with Zotac, but I heard a whole spectrum from "great aftermarket cooling" to "overheating problems." wtf
But, I had an MSI 670 OC.. Hits higher max overclock than the Gigabyte Windforce I have now -___-. It's just the...
My rich neighbor had one of those. He upgraded to Voodoo2 SLI and I used to come over all the time to play Quake II on his ISDN connection. "You get 100 ping?!?!" Sigh. The days when all you had to worry about was MMX, 3dfx, and RAM...
But damn OP, thanks for the flashbacks! This video card...
Even if the 7950 and 670 performed exactly the same, AMD would need to drop their price simply because their drivers give me headaches compared to Nvidia. But, since the 670 beats the 7950, I think $350 is a fair price.
Unless I'm missing something here, I don't think "clock for clock"...
I can understand spending money where it's worth it. $20 bucks on a video game might not be much, but when you're buying 2-3 games a month, it can add up pretty quickly.
Touche!
I'm [un]fortunately old enough to remember when Diablo 1 was cutting edge. I played the **** [either word works] out of Diablo 1 and 2, but as excited as I was to get a Diablo III beta key, in the end all I could think was "meh." But if you're into that kind of game, I'd say go for...
If I remember correctly, her voice was sexy :)
Definitely gonna pick this game when it comes out.. Unless it comes out on the console's release day... Maybe I could give up my GTX 680 hunt...
If you wanna save money you could get the Corsair K90. Classy looking keyboard with blue LEDs but only the main keys and numpad are mechanical. Having non mechanical esc/pgup/F keys doesn't bother me at all, and Cherry reds make double taps quick!
