Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
You got that right my friend! ;) My aquarium (freshwater planted tank with discus) and my computer are my two hobbies and the aquarium definitely swallows more money -- even though I'm upgrading or trying out new computer components pretty frequently. The aquarium is a lot nastier cleaning job...
Absolutely correct. I keep a 180 gallon fishtank and can assure you that using aquarium water in your pc cooling loop will create a terrible, gunked up mess in no time.
The water in a healthy aquarium is chock full of organic material -- fish and bacterial waste, food and plant matter, and...
Early results are showing the P5K to be a monster overclocker. 600fsb has been reported on a dual core proc but, more significantly, the board easily runs kentsfields at 475-485.
Here's my q6600, prime stable at 7x475:

As the prior poster said, try a different 120mm fan in the tower, it is easy to change. (I used that tower for awhile on a quad and put in a silverstone fan that ran quieter at max speed.) There's no need to remove and rma the whole tower just for that. Plenty of testing and reviews are...
Sorry, I'm not buying that 40C load temp either. Much like the prior poster my E6600 (3.6Ghz (9x400Mhz), 1.47 vcore) idles at 39-41C on a Swiftech Apogee GT block with two rad boxes.
The Tuniq is big but uses a back plate (as opposed to push pins) and feels quite solid when mounted.
(Note, I've read that reference Nvidia 680i mobos like the evga have capacitors sticking through the back of the board that interfere with the backplate. I understand this has been fixed on...
I was trying to run TAT on an Asus P5N32-E SLI. Maybe the Asus boards don't like TAT (like Kibosh's Striker). Of course in my case, the leading cause of problems is User Error!
Here's a good piece on monitoring Core 2 temperatures and why different programs read differently (sorry for the cite to a different (and normally inferior) forum) ;) :

I can't get TAT to work on nvidia...
Hi Kibosh, yes I'm a recovering Dell owner, we exchanged some messages on that forum a while back.
Here's a good set of bios screenshots for 680i overclocking:

It is particularly important to disable...
These sound dampening mats from FrozenCPU are pretty effective. (I had to use two sets to cover the inside surfaces on a full tower Silverstone TJ07):

Kibosh, I'm not using the setup currently but I had a QX6700 on an Asus P5N32-E SLI mobo, which is very similar to the Striker. A few tips for that board:
When bumping your vcore voltage be aware that this board has a huge vdroop (.05v or more), meaning your actual vcore will be less than...
FWIW, P5N32-E SLI is currently stable at 450Mhz for me w/ E6600 (multi set at 8x to experiment with higher frequencies) and air cooling (Scythe Infinity). Haven't reached max bus speed yet.
