    390X coming soon few weeks

AMD is done in the graphics department. Only people that don't know any better will buy these rebrands. No wonder they left so much to speculate on they didn't want to reveal their massive failure sooner to slow a few sales of Nvidia cards.

What are you going to do with extra inputs on a monitor really only made for pc gaming? Also freesync is having issues.

    which white is "proper"?

Well they are both PB278Qs on the same settings, one manufactured in Dec 14 the other Jan 15 lol. The one on the left looks warm white, the right one looks paper white. I know they would both need calibrating but I am wondering which is the best without it. I am used to a TN so it is hard for me...

Pain in the "rear" PB278Q quality control

yeah that is what I've been trying most of the time and it doesn't seem to do anything. Both were connected with HDMI. With my first PB278Q I compared HDMI and DVI and they seemed the same. I will try DVI on this one and see if it is any different.

Pain in the "rear" PB278Q quality control

I am trying but can't get it to work. I found a couple other methods on google I'll let you know if I figure it out.

Pain in the "rear" PB278Q quality control

You know this 2nd replacement had a sticker on box over the Asus sealing tape that reads "QC Passed." Do you think they calibrated it using the service menu at the factory? Here are a few other pictures the one I am using is on the right. Which has the more proper colors?

Pain in the "rear" PB278Q quality control

That makes sense they are both on the warm setting. I wonder why they would change the calibration so much between builds?

Pain in the "rear" PB278Q quality control

Here is a picture I took comparing white. The one on the right is the older batch from December. My camera is crappy but there is an obvious difference.

Pain in the "rear" PB278Q quality control

My first PB278Q had an annoying stuck green pixel in the top right quarter, my second had a stuck red pixel in the bottom left quarter. According to the Asus Service website and the warranty booklet that comes with the monitor this model qualifies for the Zero Bright Dot guarantee. My 3rd one...

    [CES2015] ASUS MG279Q 2560 x 1440 Gamer 120Hz IPS 5ms GTG

lol tell me about it. I am on my third PB278Q. I know it is an inexpensive monitor in comparison but it still has the zero bright dot guarantee which they can't seem to adhere to.

Monitors with zero dead pixels and no backlight bleed

I don't think one dead pixel is uncommon but the backlight bleed sounds really bad. If you bought it from a respectable retailer like Amazon or Newegg I would definitely exchange it. Amazon has been great with my recent monitor purchase. They will send you a new one and you have a whole month to...

    New Samsung "E" series

Yes that is what I meant. Anyway I think they are both good if you want a full HD IPS monitor.

    New Samsung "E" series

I owned the S24E390HL and the S24D390HL from last year. They are both very nice displays for 1080p. The D3 models received great reviews, the E3 series improves upon those by adding: -more stable stand -joystick control instead of push buttons -eye saver/reading mode -more neutral colors, the...

Which current display for reading - any consensus?

I find it funny everyone is recommending 27 inch 1440p as the "sweet spot" for pc displays when the text is far too small for the average user. You are basically forced to use scaling or sit really close.
