    BSOD 0x000000BE and 0x0000000A

I'd clear the CMOS and run at memory SPD plus .1v. I'd then run Memtest86+ overnight on each individual stick of memory. I'd also check the harddrive for failures.

Can bad RAM cause harddrive test errors?

Nevermind, now hard-drive is failing every test. go figure. Thankfully, I continued to put every component through a battery of tests.

Can bad RAM cause harddrive test errors?

I had a couple BSODs in windows 7 that caused me to suspect a hardware failure. I did some testing including harddrive and RAM. I've determined that I have one bad stick of RAM. However, my Seagate 7200 drive came back with an error on a Long test using the proprietary Seatools test (must use...

    Memtest86+ diagnoses assistance

Ok, I've tested all four sticks in again and it came up with an error after the sixth run. So one or two at a time no errors. 4 ...errors. I have the cover off the case so I doubt heat is now the issue...although you never know. I'm going to increase the voltage by .1 and see what happens.

    Memtest86+ diagnoses assistance

I received an error when testing my RAM. I'm trying to diagnose the problem because as I will explain, I can't narrow it down to a particular stick or a particular slot. I'm trying to figure out what my next step should be. A couple weeks ago my computer BSOD.It recovered to windows but it...

    Is my DVD-Burner defective?

That makes sense, but Vista formats all discs to be used for drag and drop (to be used similar to flash drive except you can't rewrite over a CD-R). Anyways, turns out the problem is probably a SATA cable. I replaced the cable with another one I wasn't using inside the case and the drive works...

    Is my DVD-Burner defective?

How can I tell in Vista what speed it is running at when ripping files? I put in a CD and it seems slow. It takes around 45 seconds to transfer a 25 MB file folder. Way slower than when pulling of a USB drive.

    Is my DVD-Burner defective?

No, I am using CD-R and DVD-R, the same media I used on my older machine with XP professional. EVen with CR-R and DVD-R, the media goes through a formatting process before it writes the data to the disc (at least that is what always happened with XP...Roxio would label CD, format CD, burn...

    Is my DVD-Burner defective?

I recently put together a new computer. I didn't think to test the Samsung 183L SATA DVD burner (since it reads fine) until now. When I insert either a CD-R or DVD-R, Vista detects the media and provides autoplay options. When I choose the format the disc option it starts the process, the...
