Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Right now I have 2x6950 2GB (the HIS IceQ models). I've generally been happy with them, but I find CF to be a bit annoying to deal with, and I've started to see some games lately that I haven't been able to max out at 1920x1200.
A friend is offering me a used 290X for $475 (one of several...
I received my G2 this morning - I haven't picked up any notification from Newegg yet about an exchange or RMA, although it certainly could be coming.
I likely wouldn't send it back though - I'm happy enough to wait for the firmware update, since I'm using it in a Mac and have absolutely no...
Just to confirm: I got my G2 160GB X25-M from Newegg earlier today - it didn't come with any sort of 2.5" -> 3.5" adapter.
EDIT: Amusingly enough, I apparently got the exact SSD that Newegg took pictures of. The S/N itself is blurred out, but the barcodes match up - the only reason I bothered...
Sounds good. I haven't started the new build yet, so I'll check the rev on it, but I bought it fairly late in 2006 so I would think it should be fairly recent. Next trick is finding a smallish case that'll house that monster (currently thinking Lian Li A05, but still poking around...)
Thanks all.
So I'm looking to update my rig for Vista, and I'm looking at probably updating with one 8800GTX and an E6600 + 4GB of RAM, hanging onto my existing hard drives (2x 250GB Seagate 7200.7 SATA), DVD drives (2x LITE-ON DVD burners), and sound card (Audigy something-or-other) Will the Antec NeoHE...
I could probably do that, although I need to dig up my digital camera (or get a new one), I'm not sure where mine is at the moment. As far as the high-def cable goes I was initially using the one they gave me with the VD-Z3, which works fine with the adapter as well as the Canon LV-X1 projector...
I've posted about this before... Vdigi makes a fantastic component -> VGA adapter (comes bundled with an Xbox Hi-Def cable but works with anything)... I used it for about six months with my old 17" CRT before I got my 2405. I can't recommend it highly enough. I never did get around to trying it...
Rather then click on the little down arrow, click the link to go into the advanced search options, and down towards the bottom there's an option to search by thread or by post. Selecting post will make you a very happy person. :-D
I still haven't figured out why vB hasn't made this the default...
Hrm. I have a friend who works for Apple at CompUSA... He'll be back in on Thursday and I could mention it to him, we could hook up a 23" to the Mac mini there and see if it works. Not that it will mean much. But if it's something of interest I can probably arrange it.
The mini officially supports the Apple 23" display, which is 1920x1200 as well - therefore the Mac mini should have absolutely no problems with the 2405FPW either.
Anand goes gaga for the Quartz Extreme effects - I wouldn't worry too much about the monitor on the Mac mini; he has a point that...
I sent Gabe (the original Dell rep in this thread) an e-mail on Friday, but didn't get a chance to get back to him with a number until later in the day (guess it was too late) - I sent him an e-mail this morning giving him a better number to call back at but I haven't heard from him :-/ I don't...
(long time lurker, first time poster :-)
Honestly... if you want the ultimate in quality, I'd check out the VD-Z3 by Vdigi. It's a little bit on the pricey side, about $70 including shipping, plus component cables for whatever console you want to use (it includes an Xbox cable, a component...
