I'm looking to buy a new headset for gaming. My budget isn't particularly large, so I'm curious as to how these configurations would compare. I'm not quite an audiophile, but I do need good sound for gaming.
I was previously using an HD555 (which broke) and an X-Fi XtremeGamer card, which...
Up to this point, I have had no issues with my PSU or anything. I recently overclocked a bit along with moderate adjustments to the VCore, CPU-NB, and NB voltages. I now have my 955 running in my MA790XT-UD4P at 4.0GHz with at 250x15 at 1.45v to the Vcore, 1.3v to the CPU-NB, and 1.2v to the...
The X-Armor U9BL is a great entry-level mechanical keyboard as well. It would be my preference over the BW or BWU. It's about $120...but if you're a student or in education, you can get a nice discount.
I was previously using a Creative XtremeGamer along with my HD555's for gaming. Unfortunately, the card started to die with age and I was receiving lots of static & popping. I've been using my onboard Realtek for the past few weeks...and while it's not absolutely horrible (I'm no audiophile)...
I'm currently using a Steelseries Siberia v2...which I'm pretty disappointed in overall. I'm going to be purchasing a new set of headphones for gaming/ventrilo (and a little music) for somewhere around $100.
These are the headsets I have been looking at thus far -
AD700 - Everything that Ive...
For what it's worth, I did notice a bit of more ghosting on the NEC than the Dell in your video. While there is no profound difference when rapidly moving the mouse & in-game camera view back & forth, lesser movements seem to have caused more motion blur on the NEC. This may be cause I'm used...
Thanks for the review man, really helpful.
Just curious - did you have overdrive enabled on the Dell when you recorded the Crysis video? Both monitors look pretty close. It's difficult to tell, but neither seems to have much more motion blur than my current 5ms TN panel.
If you could run Crysis that would be fantastic - though whatever works best for you, of course. I would really appreciate it. I'm not overly concerned about a side-by-side comparison - I'm just more interested in seeing how the U2311H handles gaming as well as your impressions in general...
Might be too much to ask - but do you intend on trying any form of gaming on either monitor? I've been trying to find some videos of the Dell playing any type of FPS to try to determine how the amount of ghosting would compare to what I currently use (22" HannsG @ 5ms). I've been going back...
How is this monitor for FPS gaming?
I play a lot of MW2 and BC2 and really want to avoid any noticeable ghosting, which I'm fairly sensitive to. I play right now on a HF229H @ 5ms G2G and still notice some very slight ghosting. Right now I'm debating between the U2311H and PX2370. Also...
Thanks for that. I actually hadn't even looked as Acer monitors due to their somewhat poor reputation in the past. My only concern with it is the glossy screen. The monitor sits right by a window & has a light almost directly over it in the evenings & at night. Do you think glare would be an...
I'm currently using a 22" Hannspree 1680x1050 monitor, but it has a TON of bleeding and color issues as well as a few dead pixels. I'm looking to buy a new 1080P monitor around 23" inches. The primary use of the PC is going to be gaming - mostly L4D2, Bad Company 2, WoW, Heroes of Newerth...
