    WD Red drives?

What do you define as enterprise? I'm contemplating using Reds for a "enterprise" mirrored file servers. However, I know my iops are low (< 50iops for the entire array), I mostly need storage capacity. My alternatives are WD RE SATA/SAS drives, but they're about double the cost of the Red.

    WD Red drives?

I have to 3TB red running on a 4bay ReadyNAS and it works great. If I were to use this drive for a large array, say 15-20 spindles, on RAID60, would it be a problem?

    Cisco's Big Announcement

I thought it would be a consumer thing too. but I guess I was wrong. It's a new addition to the "Huge Fucking Router" platform, CSR-3. I wish they would just call it HRF for real. :D...

    Locking screen in 10.6

I enabled the keychain app icon in menu bar, and I click that padlock and select "lock screen". I'm not using Snow Leopard anymore.I had to downgrade back to 10.5, so its not relevant to me for the time being, but maybe someone else has this question too.

    Locking screen in 10.6

So I did a clean install in 10.6 and noticed that locking screen turns the screen off, rather than going into screen saver mode (like in 10.5). Is this the behavior for your guys too or did I misconfigure something?

Why do YOU need dual 24" monitors?

Actually for me, dual 24 isn't as important as the fact that it's 3840x1200. I kinda wish they make 1920*1200 22 inch screens, I barely have enough room to put speakers on my 60inch wide desk with 2 24 inch screens side by side.

    M-Audio AV20 / small speakers setup

Thanks for the list! As far as I concern, I think I can row a dice on any of them. Recently set up a computer in my room and found these Creative Soundworks 4.1 systems laying around. I've been bitching about the sound quality every time I play any music. Muddy bass, highs are distorted, I...

    M-Audio AV20 / small speakers setup

What would be a better choice between the Behringer MS40 and the M audio AV40 in terms of sound quality?

    M-Audio AV20 / small speakers setup

Thanks for the reply, criccio. Well, I'd still need a sound card that can output toslink or coaxial out, but I can go for a cheap one (maybe even onboard if it has such outputs). Between the Behringer and M-Audio 40, would one is more accurate?

    M-Audio AV20 / small speakers setup

Okay you guys convinced me on the AV 40. At 6inch wide,I have centimeters to spare. I suppose that's okay. Just wondering if there are any monitors comparable to the AV40? Or maybe even one with a usb interface or spdif interface?

    M-Audio AV20 / small speakers setup

I need to find a pair of speakers that is of decent quality. The only requirement is that they need to be small. After 2x24inch monitors, I don't have much desk space left. I'm thinking of spending about $100 up to $200. A sub isn't really necessary, but I wouldn't mind one. I'm thinking of...
