    Is this normal...

I have a calibrated screen. Your acer looks very washed out. The dell does look somewhat over saturated. I would say the dell is closer to the original image though, the acer is very washed out. Either way, you need to do a calibration.

Single GPU solution for gaming @ 2560 X 1600 resolution

The 6970 performs better for those games at 2560*1600. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/HIS/Radeon_HD_6970/10.html Either 6970 or 580 for you then. Pick based on your budget.

Is it worth for me to buy gtx 460?

The 460 will play all those games at 60fps just fine. You wont be fully using 100% of its capabilities, but if you are going to upgrade the monitor soon, then why not just go for it.

Too much video card? Help me understand.

Most monitors have refresh rates of 60fps. If your video card renders faster than that its all wasted, as your monitor cant display it, so you wont be able to see the difference. In general, its better to buy a card that suits your needs today, and replace it every 2 years rather than buy the...

    Graphics card upgrade

Is there a point in going for anything more powerful than the 5850 then? My system has pretty much been bottlenecked by this resolution since the C2D/7900 days. Back then, going for the fastest parts would not have helped much. Looks like I am in the same situation today.

    Graphics card upgrade

I never understood this vram thing fully. under the WEI page, it says I have 3500mb of vram, 512 dedicated vram. I suppose its using some of my main memory to compensate for the lack of ram on the videocard?

    Graphics card upgrade

I am looking to upgrade in general. I have an older rig with a dead videocard, hope to put the 4870 in that one and get a new one for this rig.

    Graphics card upgrade

SC2 handles it better than older titles imo. The lag issue is less pronounced. CNC4 handles this the best: anyone whose framerate drops below a certain level is kicked from the game!

    Graphics card upgrade

I know this, i cant max it out at the moment. Nice link though, it shows me that anything faster than the 5850 doesn't increase performance @ high or above at my resolution... Does this mean its CPU limited?

    Graphics card upgrade

I would like to play at 2560x1600, min 60fps, 4v4maps included. would a faster GPU achieve this, or is SC2 hopelessly CPU limited? I wont want to upgrade to find that its actually CPU limited, and get little performance gain. 2560x1600 4870/512 i7 920/3.66 HX-1000 9Gb DDR3

Here's a build a friend pieced together for me... is it good?

Looks like whoever did the recommendation knows what he is doing, some things i may do differently: 1) i7 920 (and mobo) could be replaced with a slightly faster i7 860 if you don't intend to do the following: -overclock the processor -install multiple graphics cards -Upgrade to...
