Check Device Manager and see if there is the iGPU (integrated Intel gfx) installed. If so, either right click and Disable it, and/or reboot into the BIOS and disable it. Once that’s finished retry your games...
Id rather get a 1070 for 20-40 smacks more...Damn 980TIs need to come down more to be tempting. Not smart to price them basically on par with a 1070 IMO...
Not sure if anyone cares, but I tried TISTHESERVER against the Xeon iteration to see if it was like the original deal in the OP (since that code worked on both)...sadly it does not...:'(
OK...interestingly enough some progress was made. As long as there are no DIMMS in slot 4 of the motherboard, the system will POST with the I350-T4 NIC installed. Any DIMM (I tried them all to rule out a faulty one) plugged into slot 4 results in the beep codes and the system WILL NOT POST...

They are fairly loud at stock, so I swap the fan out for a Noctua 92mm. Quiet as a mouse.
