    Low Profile HD 6770/5770?

Is there a low profile version of the HD 6770 or the HD 5770? I'm looking to add a video card to my slimline Gateway SX2840, and it only has enough room for a low profile card.

Dropped my Desktop - Now it Won't Work

Thanks for the recommendations. This thread is almost a year old, but I never actually got a video card. Would you guys still recommend the HD 5770 as the best option for this computer? Or is there a newer card on the market that would be a better choice?

Dropped my Desktop - Now it Won't Work

Good news, guys. I reseated the four RAM sticks and the computer booted up just fine. I guess I got lucky this time. Thanks for all the help and advice. By the way, what would be the best video card that I could put into this model(Gateway SX2840-01)?

Dropped my Desktop - Now it Won't Work

Good idea. I'll install a video card and see what happens. I've already opened the case to take out the hard drive and optical drive. I don't see any cables or wires unattached anywhere. There's really nothing to re-seat except the RAM cards, right?

Dropped my Desktop - Now it Won't Work

I have a big problem. I accidentally knocked my new Gateway SX2840-01 desktop off of the desk and onto a carpeted floor. It was in sleep mode when I knocked it off the desk, but the fall made it wake up. When I picked it up and put it back on the desk, there was no video signal. I turned the...

The highly rated HP Pavilion Slimline PC thread

Okay, Archaea, I've decided to take your advice and try to replace the motherboard myself. HP hardware support wants to charge me $400 to repair the computer, and they want to charge my credit card before they'll even mail me the box to send the computer to them! So all I need to...

Archaea, Thanks for your advice. I appreciate it. I finally got the HP tech help to agree that the problem is the motherboard. Now they want me to ship them the computer so they can repair it. Of course, my Slimline is out of warranty, so I would have to pay for the repair cost. My...

The highly rated HP Pavilion Slimline PC thread

I don't know what it's doing. What happens is that if the DVD drive is connected, the DVD light goes on and off in a cycle, along with the hard disk drive light. It does this in an infinite loop. If I take the DVD drive out, I can tell that the computer is still going through this "infinite...
