I'm in the process of RMA'ing an XFX card also.. the 520/1.5 7900GT
I must say, I've had a pretty good experience so far. They're cross-shipping my replacement right now. True, they had to get some extra approval to do it, but they did do it.
I just hope the new card doesn't have the same...
I've got the same thing happening.
Mine's the XFX clocked at 520/1.5
Had it running at 565/1.6 for awhile.. not really taxing it.. some benchmarking with 3dmark.. a little cs:s but haven't had much time for games recently.
Anyways.. I went to play around with the clocks again and once...
Coulda sworn it was better on my last setup.. oh well.. just a benchmark.. games run fine. Once the next round of mainstream cards come out I'll probably jump to the pci-e side not have to worry about agp driver issues.
System's acting up a bit now.. Video Vault (converts tivo files to divx)...
But it's more than just the cpu tests. The regular ones run like shit. So my 05 score was like 3500 or so. I thought I remember my Athlon @ 2.4 doing much better than that.
Weird.. Tried to bump it up just a bit and couldn't get into windows.. then tried to go back to what i had it at and it was a no go.
Let it prime over night at 2.48 @ 1.33V
Another strange thing.. can't seem to run 3dmark06 or 05 very well. 06 runs at like 1-2 fps adn 05 at like 10 fps...
When I was in the 2.6 area at 1.4 my temps were getting kinda high like 125F (52C)
I'll probably try to go back up there on lower voltage.. when i started out i thought I had hit the limit at stock voltage so I bumped to it to the max of this board and went from there. The wall i hit had...
This is like the ultimate budget upgrade. Opty 165 - $265 (last weekend at monarch) + ASrock 939 Dual SATA2 - $70
So far the highest I've pushed it is 2.62 stable at 1.4V (1.42 cpuz). Now I'm looking for how far I can get it at a lower voltage to keep the temps down.
Currently at 2.5...
How much did you pay for the mobo?
shit, if it only costs me around $100 i might take the plunge.. i was looking at that chaintech budget board that oc's well.. the VNF250 i think...
