nah just the grease that came with my Zalman, and it worked great for about 6 months...Im fairly sure its the voltage because the vcore is at 1.6 it works fine but at 1.75 it shuts down even after a few minutes of being idle...any thoughts?
It would seem my temp measurement on my motherboard is inaccurate...It would go up to 50-60 C and then shut down, but on restart I checked the temp in the BIOS and it was 85-95 C!! something weird about that...doesn't feel 85-95 C hot but then im only touching the cooler
I know the indicator...
Weird heat issues
It had been a stable 2400+ XP-M running at 11x200, prime 95 and other tests checked out. Everything had been running fine. Around the time I was having driver issues with Farcry, the computer became gradually less and less stable. It would shut down in the...

what are you looking to spend? AMD or Intel? How big would you like the HTPC to be (ATX/Micro ATX?) what OS / Media Software do you want? Linux / MythTV? XP/Media Center Ed.?

Um I didn't see the Cheap Thermalright at svc...at least not 8 bux cheap. I saw this which is VERY reasonably priced for what it is, but if you get that, you have to get a fan for it as well. I think EITHER the Zalman OR the Arctic Cooling one (you just need one :D ) will serve you well. My...
OEM is great if ur savin' money (except u don't get a pretty sticker :p ) The Retail sinks aren't great, and there pretty loud, so getting a better HSF is actually reccommended I like Arctic Cooling, Zalman, and Thermalright, which might be a little out of your price point (60+ bux) But Cooler...
There is a lot more to a PSU than wattage, and the cheaper PSU's are very hit and miss. Thats the short story. The long story involves a lot more than I could absorb. Somebody help me out here?
I don't mean the Neopower is bad, just more expensive than others that would likely do the job just as well (and with more wattage to boot). The Infinity has a SATA II raid, and WD makes a 250 gig SATA II with 16 MB cache that costs about 10 bux more than the one hes got. Its on newegg
I would step up to the DFI Ultra-Infinity myself. Just make sure you get a SATA II / 3.0gb/s hard drive to match. (I personally am not the biggest maxtor fan anyway). Why not OCZ or Corsair or Mushkin RAM instead? I like crucial but there are cheaper options that are just as good.
there...
If you must get a sub $60 psu, take a little hit in wattage and get a more reliable name, at least like cooler master, thermaltake, vantec, fortron/sparkle, antec, etc. But I would highly reccommend spending a little more, especially if you are getting a 7800gtx. my personal favorite is this
It's obvious that the three systems are designed, in general, to cater to different markets, and this has been true in the current generation as well. Maybe even past generations.
PS2 / PS3: Caters to the Japanese market. best for anime related games, RPGs. A lot more Japanese developers...
