Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
OK, I've just tested Crysis on Vista and XP with the same settings (Dx9, High, with a few .cfg hacks)
Vista GPU Benchmark: 23.7
XP GPU Benchmark: 24.6
So, a %4 difference in XP's favor. Not much...
Although I'm not a big fan of Vista, I can confirm that the interface is just as fast as XP if you have RAM to waste. That's why this thread is about video drivers performance only.
Thank you for that link. The games tested show there's still some performance difference on nvidia side, but 10% in the worst cases and around equal in most cases. Newest nvidia betas are even better, ATI has never had any problems with Vista anyway, so I guess going back to XP is not worth it...
The same story here in this thread. Everyone's saying the performance gap has closed, but no one has any hard numbers. A lot of people have dual-boot setups, but I guess everyone's too lazy to benchmark.
I'll set up a dual boot system myself this weekend and see the results with the latest...
I've been using Vista only for around 6 months, anticipating Crysis. Now that it's out, I can see that Dx10 doesn't make much difference, and it's unplayable even on a 8800 GTX. Other Dx10 games are similar, so there's no reason to use Vista anymore.
I'm thinking of returning to XP, but I...
Rivatuner can't detect if the OS is in 2D mode or in 3D mode, so it's not an alternative to Atitool.
Even in Atitool, all clocks should be the same in 2D and 3D profiles but since you're making different profiles for 2D and 3D, it's not a problem.
For once, I'm posting a thread not to ask a question, but to give back some info. :)
After waiting so long for ATI R600, I recently got a 8800 GTX. I loved it at first sight, but it ran very hot in my case. Temperatures exceeded 80C at idle and 95C under load.
So I installed ATITOOL...
I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question, but I ran out of new games to play. :)
I want to know which big titles will be released soon, and when. Is there a link where I can see the releases planned for the next months?
No need to panic. No card can be 3x faster than GTX, with current technology. A company like ATI worked for a year and they still can't come up with a card that can even come close.
GTX is so good, even nvidia can't beat it easily. The only way is to make the die smaller and cram more...
