Yeah...it's very hard to understand for me, I mean I moved on for 4K and quad gpu's in 2013, so it's hard to remember how it was playing crappy DX9 games@1080P. You must think you are the only game "modder" in here?!!
On the other hand i failed to realize why did you open this thread in...
Great theory Einstein!
Problem is like I said it would do....because I sold it in 2013 and bought a 4770K
The only reason that i even mentioned that cpu is because it saddens me to see a 1K cpu being reduced to a simple I5.
Right now i actually have 3 X79 rigs on my office..so spare...
I have had 3 X5650 and two X5675, 2 of my X5650 would do 4GHz stable and bench at 4.2GHz without going crazy with the Vcore. One was actually a decent clocker would do 4.2GHz and bench 4.6GHz@1.45V. My best X5675 would do 4.6GHz@1.4V 24/7 24gb ram@2000mhz on a air cooler.
Only question that i have, is why did you spent 1K on a 6 core cpu?
My old 2500k would do 5GHz stable 24/7@1.4Vcore, bench @5.4GHz and costed me less than 200$. And now you're disabling hyperthreading and cores so you can have a 2500k :)
I have a build with 9 SP120 fans and they are not the best fans in the world....they are really cheesy compared with my noctuas, they aren`t the PWM version but i only paid 25 for a 2 pack, the PWM are 40 for the pack or 20 a pop...i find that completely insane for such low quality fans. I...
I'm rebuilding a rig and i need radiator fans, and 16 of those :)
So price is a concern, i'm building on a corsair 900D and obvious choice would be the SP120 PWM but in my country they cost more than a Noctua NF-F12 PWM.
Any reason to choose the corsair fans over the noctua other than looks?
I have a Gigabyte windforce R9 290 and it's a pretty cool and quiet running card...just look for the reviews.
Can you put a picture of the interior of your case?
Isn't that the same issue that already existed in X79 with XMP profile in some kits putting to much voltage in the IMC that would actually degrade the cpu?
