    4690k cpu

If it's a US/Canadian seller, you should be fine. If it's an international seller, it could be the old ship a rock trick on eBay. They ship you junk and for you to qualify under the eBay buyer protection, you have to ship it back to the seller first with proof of tracking to initiate a refund...

    Ordered an Inspiron 1720 yesterday...

Oops, That isn't what I meant. My previous experience was that they have coupons at the launch but then the coupons / discounts don't come up anymore after the product is launched. I just hope I didn't miss the deal like I did with the e228 monitor.

    Ordered an Inspiron 1720 yesterday...

how do their coupon promotions usually work? I'm hoping I could get a decked out Inspiron 1720 for ~$1100 that I put together with their coupons in July and August. Never got around to ordering it though.

Need Recommendation on New Monitor(gaming) | $300-500 Budget

what's your graphics card? Though with CSS and WoW it shouldn't matter much unless it's the militia map or something else which kills frame rates.

    19''+ widescreen laptop

Is there a list of 19'' laptops that I can refer to? I did some searches and came out with some links from 2005. futureshop and ncix here in Canada don't seem to have anything either. It doesn't seem that popular but I like my screens big!

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

groovie, can you please, please post the source image so that we have a point of comparison? Most of us have only been comparing with different photographs, or at best a simple gradient picture. I don't think we 226 users have compared from the same source photo yet so please post that original...

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

I returned the A for an S too, and honestly couldn't tell the difference, especially while gaming. For photos and movies I'll definitely like to look at them side by side but can't recall anything particularly bad about the A panel. I still get dithering and banding problems in movies with the S...

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

I traded in my A panel because of a dead pixel and got an S panel. There's banding on the left side of that gradient test if I sit about 2 feet away from the monitor

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

Few shots showing the backlighting. First 3 shots are at 100 brightness and the last one is at 60 brightness. What are some good settings to use btw? As for banding on gradients (such as this test http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/ ), I have to be at least a foot away to notice it.

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

Grabbed the 226bw from Futureshop at Metrotown in Burnaby BC today. Unfortunately it's an A panel. There was a 206BW on display, and the Futureshop at Park Royal in West Vancouver had one too when I checked last Saturday. Both the display units were marked as S panels. Here are a few pictures...
