Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Finally getting a chance to do this update.
Put the files on USB flash drive and reboot. It just sits at the "Finding Drives" screen.... Waited ~5 minutes and nothing.
Seems I read some people had to change from AHCI to IDE or something???? Can someone clarify? I really don't want to...
thanks have. I plan on doing mine this weekend. I also do not exhibit any of the issues but, like you, I like to stay on top of the updates.
Did you do the CD or USB method?
I haven't read this whole thread yet but I might as well share my story.
I saw a huge thread years ago on this forum for the "ergohuman" chair. Everyone raved about it so I bought one without ever testing it. Biggest waste of $$ ever. The chair is not comfortable at all.
If anyone is ever...
OK, I will look into it tonight. I followed a guide of some sort when I overclocked my 2500K and I seem to remember that might have been one of the things I was supposed to Enable (the PLL Overvoltage).
So, do you think it will interfere with the overclock in any way? Worse case scenario is...
I am running an XFX 6950 2GB with the ASRock Extreme 4. No problems like you described.
I realize I may be stating something obvious but are you connecting it DVI? Are you connecting it to the correct DVI port on your 6950? I thought I read that only one of them would work for some reason or...
I think I have the same issue but on my ASRock Extreme4. I've never experienced a "double boot" so I'm not sure if that's what mine is doing.
From a cold boot, I hear my fans ramp up to high for a second or two then down to low. Then it sounds like everything turns off and then the fans go to...
Wow.
Do you think you need the RAM cooler? I only ask because I have one that I've never used and from what I've read it's not really necessary on a sandy bridge system.
I guess I can always try it but didn't want to add extra noise, have it throw off airflow, etc.
I haven't played and y SC games in a long time. I didn't even know about the latest one (Conviction) but I really didn't care for Double Agent. It's been so long I can't even remember why.
Any other similar games out recently that would compare to SC?
Thanks. Glad to know it's not totally uncommon. But I've never heard it out of way less expensive video cards. It just stinks to pay alot of $ (to me anyway) and to have this distraction.
I'm gonna try and go through newegg but I've already cut the UPC and sent it off for the rebate. I...
I sent an email to XFX. I am thinking of also calling Newegg tomorrow and seeing if they would possibly send me a replacement. Although, if others are having the same issue then I don't know what to do. I am seriously having second thoughts about not going with NVidia.
