    I think this will be the end result, I just pulled the trigger on a new Lenovo i7 laptop so I'll dump the contents of the HP to the new notebook. The hp will get formatted with a fresh install of windows on the 120 SSD and I'll use it as a programming computer for work. Thanks to everyone...

    Good info, thank you. That PDF has good info, and it's a very similar model to my dv6, but mine doesn't have the number key pad. I guess the drive could be 9.5, next time I pull the access cover I'll take a closer look As far as my needs, I would say best price and reliability are my needs...

    copy that, yeah I had the drive out a few days ago I think 7.5mm is as big as I can fit. I am in the market for a new laptop, I guess I could replace my 120gig ssd in the desktop and toss it in the laptop and use it as a backup machine for work... storage would no longer be in issue if it...
