DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Not yet, but if the smaller once is aviabel soon, then the bigger one shouldnt be that far away.
I guess if i drill the wholes in the side panel , the Heatpipes will stand out about 1-2mm. Buts thats fine with me :D maybe it looks cool too :D

I'm not sure those kinetic coolers can even work vertically mounted, since they have a bearing which is using gravity. Also, the max cooling capacity of these is pretty low (max 70W TDP? unsure). They are cool though, just because they are different.

That's for the "engine 27" cooler (27mm tall, 70w, no heatpipes), the one that he is talking about is the high performance one, "sandia" i think it's called, and this one is 55/52mm tall and almost double the mass/size in aluminum fins and also heatpipes, so we are looking at 100w+ of heat dissipation (my guess is 140w)

Now about the heatpipes, i been thinking about the vertical mount too, i'm not really sure if it will work in this case taking aside its size...

I don't suppose anyone who pre-ordered the Black A4 has decided they don't want/need it anymore? I've been checking the forum pretty much daily since I saw the LTT video and fell in love with this case. I'm to impatient to wait for UK Overclockers to get them in stock. I already started buying components and have someone who is willing to sell me their Silver version if I can't find a Black one by the time they ship. Super excited to build a new system in this case!

Ah, cool, I didn't know about the 100W+ version.

My remark about the "orientation" was not regarding heat pipes, people have figured out long ago how to make them function in various directions.

When you watch the video from Sandia (which is a research lab in the US) the engineer explains that there is a very thin layer of air in between the rotor and the stator. They made it such that it is so thin that it can still conduct heat efficiently. However, if I remember correctly, he stated that the design requires the cooler to be positioned horizontally. Designing this air bearing such that it is orientation invariant is not easy, but maybe CoolChip has figured it out, dunno. Please check before buying though, since I guess you don't want to use your A4-SFX sideways :D

The Sandia air-bearing is not orientation-dependant (you can even hang it upside down). CoolChip's implementation is an unlicensed version of the Sandia cooler, they did not have any contact with Sandia Labs as part of its development.
ThermalTake have so far only announced the low power 1U cooler. It is unknown whether or not they have actually licensed the larger cooler.

I think I found the perfect bag for the case, it's called the lowepro event messenger 250

EdZ, thanks for the confirmation, it makes sense. Selling an item to the general public which is orientation-dependant will probably not go well.
Do you happen to remember where you found this info?

:eek::eek::eek:

I hope we have one for each brand, this is awesome and could solve the problem with the MSI 10xx fitting in the case, if there was one of this for them?
EVGA - Articles - EVGA PowerLink™

I have my Corsair sf450 and my Cryorig C7, waiting for my case :nailbiting:

An MSI-like product would still not solve it, the card is just too wide and the EVGA powerlink is still fatter, than the 90º short connector cables, although much prettier. I will probably get an EVGA, but I'm curious to see if an MSI will fit. Would be great if somebody could lend one to Dan.

Related, does anybody know if this PowerLink will fit in an SC version of the 10xx, since these don't need dual 8-pin power connectors.

[Edit] Found it, the connectors on the GPU side are interchangeable and can be positioned along a slot, such that it should work for future videocards, nicely done. Wonder how it is all electrically routed though.

u already see how its "routed" . One side is + the other - .

Guess i will wait for Zen and look whether the prices fall.

Seeing the size of the evga power link, not sur it will help to make à card fit.
It seems to big for our case.

New blower 1080 announced from Gigabyte. Can't wait for a review in hopes of it being quieter than founders, and then hopefully a quiet 1080 ti blower iteration from someone GIGABYTE Intros the GeForce GTX 1080 TT Graphics Card

blower style are noisier because of the heatsink being smaller in blower style, therefore the fan needs to run faster. the blower itself isn't the problem, so any new blower style will have the same problem

UPDATE: Here comes the next big Update.

Every second of my free time in the last weeks I worked on a redesign of the DAN Cases website. Today the work is done.
Visit www.dan-cases.com to see the new design. Here and there are new features and informations. If you find some misspelling or errors please let me know.

I found that the "watermarks" of overclocker.uk and caseking.de just links to "google.de".
Otherwise, it looks really nice!

When the case is available for consumers, for how long will the sale of this case last? Id like to buy this case for lan parties and such but I will not have have enough money for the release. Thanks :D

Hello everybody!

My first post and I´m bitching about spelling, but you did ask for it :D
If you find some misspelling or errors please let me know.

In the last section "Availability"
  1. Initial = Initially
  2. Mai = May *Mackan beat me to it
  3. 1600 cases were sold
  4. plattform = platform
  5. "Meanwhile there are thousend of new interested people to buy the this case..." = Meanwhile there are thousands of new people interested in buying the A4-SFX, so it will be available again: DAN Cases found two resellers, OverclockersUK and Caseking Germany, who will offer the case for purchase towards the end of 2016
And to end on a more positive note: dondan, you the man! Your case design is so good, it made me participate in a Kickstarter campaign and sign up on Hardforum to point out misspellings.

I decided to watch Linus' video again just to snap this.

Linus' associate informs us that he was easily able to fit an EVGA GTX 1080 Classified in the A4. He did mention that the card got a little toasty but mentioned that it idn't throttle. Tweakers unite! Time to ramp up those fans for some extra performance.

Dondan, your site looks great.

The new site looks great dan, but i wanted to mention that the black background behind "7.2L" and "295mm" doesn't match the one of the rest.

I still think there has to be some clear pictures with the case near a common object, like a can of coke, an xbox controller; it has to sit right next to it, not like the picture with the steam controller, which is taken with a weird perspective, making the case bigger than really is. I have a cardboard mockup of the case sitting on my desk and i'm still amazed how small it is, but i can't tell that just from looking at the site's pics.

This picture just made me decide all over again that I want to build a computer in this case(y)

Just to nit-pick, under specifications "1.25 Kg" you have a space between numbers and unit of measurement. To keep it consistent with your other measurements, the space should be removed.
I do not believe there are clear rules regarding space or not. Some argue that if you write the unit, in this case kilogram, you would have a space – therefore you should also when using abbreviations.

The new site looks great by the way.

In the 'Thermal Concept' section, there is a space before the 'E'... Best take it offline till this is fixed.

Found another one in 'Compatibility.' Completely unacceptable.

I'm not a proofreader but I want to add some. Under 'Awards' section, the word 'Furthermore' should be followed by a comma. Like 'Furthermore, Linus Tech Tips...'.

Under 'Availability' section, the words 'Initially' and 'Meanwhile' should also be followed by a comma.
Another comma should be inserted in the sentence 'In this time, more than 1600 cases were sold...'.
In the sentence 'The consumer demand was higher as expected...', 'higher as expected' should be 'higher than expected'
Another one under 'Availability' section, '..., so it will be available again' should be followed by a period instead of a colon.

I hope my former grade school English subject teacher approves these corrections. :D

Oh, great job on the new design of the Dan A4-SFX product page. (y)(y)(y)

Soooon, Dan posts updates as soon as he can. He updated us saying when production was going to start. He knows we are a pack of hungry wolves and what we want is tye case right now. I'm absolutely positive that when he has a date he will let us know.
