I call bullshit on the "slower than 60% of the US" part. Maybe if you ignore the 60% of the country that doesn't want to go to speedtest because it will take them over the cap on their 600kbps connection.

Work connection:

We almost get half of what we use taxpayer money to pay for (200/200).

I pay for 15Mbps Down // 1Mbps Up. Fastest internet speed I can get from my ISP, in my area of the city, for now.

Nice speeds, I have a very nice upload but i hardly stream or do anything of that sort. Verizon fios is truly amazing though for home grade....I remember having time warner and they sucked ass. A+ for fiber optics.

Jealous some of your speeds people ;)

Not bad speeds for Comcast, live in Bellevue Washington which is about ~15 miles from Bothell. Wish I could get Condo Internet here on the Eastside(of Seattle). http://www.condointernet.net/

Middle of Washington:

Spokane, on the other side of the state close to Idaho:

I had 300/300 but just didn't really need it anymore so I have the 75/75 now....which is still really overkill

at work ATM

My home speed is pretty slow 15 or so down 2 up

Comcast business is expensive compared to the exact same stuff for home use. But, it still beats the alternative when you have a bunch of computers in your shop all downloading tons of updates all day..

Work:

We also have a 40 gig fiber connection (being upgraded to 80 gig) at our data center, obviously I won't see that in a speedtest but I can always dream.

I was pretty satisfied with my home speeds until I saw some of those mega-gig fiber connections.

This service is advertised as `up to` 152Mb.

Thanks to Virgin Media, we get a half decent downstream but up is a ridiculously pathetic waste of time.... although it is an upgrade from my previous 60-ish Mb down and 2.7Mb up!

One of the reasons the UK is so far behind the rest of the world in relation to mainstream broadband speeds. FTTH up to 1Gb is available but far less mainstream.

Suddenlink is suposed be giving us a speed boost at any time to 300/15, and then later to 1gb line in the next year. I was not happy they bumped the low tier customers to a 50mbs line first. They should take care of their top tier customers first lol.

Why are we still using speedtest.net? It's been proven many times over that it's unreliable and is artificially boosted by ISP's.
