Crucial M4 $199.99 FS, NR

Ya know putting details like capacity in there would be helpful.

Other then that. This is HOT. I haven't seen the 256 this low before.

I posted about 10 min after OP as I ctrl-f'ed the web page for 256 and didn't find anything....oh well.

It's available at TD as well.

Close thread, I tried posting this within 34 seconds of seeing the email alert to help. Did it on phone and made a mistake. See Robstar's post instead.

Need a break from all the crazy ssd deals.

I already bought 3 m4s in the past week from buy.com/amazon, 4 mushkin chronos deluxii, so I'm all tapped out, otherwise I'd be all over this!

you're welcome, totally wish I had waited on my buy.com m4 to get this instead, haven't even installed my buy.com one yet...

if you check out the buy.com m4's thread, all of us got a cardboard paper thin wing, apparantly the OFF-ROAD model lol.
some poor guy's black plastic holder within the m4 box itself, was crushed to heck...
there's a pic

And we paid $9 more.

Ah well, black friday 2012, these m4s will be like WHo knows!!!

Yeah this is a pretty HOT crazy deal for sure!! Lowest price I've seen for this type of drive by far. 78 cents per gb!!! I hope this becomes the norm.

My first Crucial from Newegg (64GB) was shipped the same way, shitty bubble wrap pouch which looked like someone sat on it.

In for 2!

It's 199.99 on Amazon as well.. You know what this means, price match with Staples and use $25 coupon!

Wow they just keep getting lower and lower.

Platter drive manufacturers can go DIAF (the last "F" might as well stand for "flood" instead of "fire") -- these M4s have almost reached parity with the 300GB Velociraptor as far as GB/$.

Oh, the temptation. :D I do not...... not yet...... NOOOOO!!!!! ;) I am going to wait even those these are tempting. I just recently purchased a windows tablet so I do not want to spend more at the moment.

Also, my daughters Birthday is tomorrow.

I hear ya. Besides, they're only gonna keep getting cheaper.

Also, my daughters Birthday is tomorrow.
I can hear it now...
<sound of wrapping paper being ripped off>
"Daddy, what IS it??"
"Oh silly! It's a Solid State Drive honey!!"
"Daddy, I wanted a Hunger Games Barbie and a PONY!!"
"You're right pumpkin. Daddy will just have to put it in HIS computer!!" ;)

This is so hard to pass up since I only have like 30 GB left on my 128GB m4. It should hold me over but it would be awesome to put my 128 in my x200 tablet....

Newegg for me over TD/CompUSA.. No tax and UPS 3 day shipping for free.

Na, she will be 19 and is in studying to be a registered nurse. More likely, if she was local so I could install it, she would say, "No problem, here is my computer, get to it." :D

Guess I'm going to return the one I bought from Amazon, and then repurchase it through Amazon at $199. Can't believe they wouldn't price match this. I bought it less than a month ago, and since then they've dropped the price 4 times.

Actually, I think I will buy it from Newegg since Amazon would rather take a full refund than do a price match.

Dang....i dont think i couldve clicked any faster to snatch up this deal....

Thanks OP.

Really wish I could afford to jump on this right now. I'm down to ~30GB free on my Intel 320. Maybe next time...

Yeah that's pretty stupid seeing as how it can still be returned. I'm actually surprised by this, usually Amazon is pretty good with cs. Did you try calling them and talking to a rep?

I know what you mean, literally saw it and instantly went to make this thread under 40 seconds (forgot the 256gb in thread title :( was on a phone and wanted to do this fast, sorry, but I figure the $200 implies this would be be a 256 anyway)

Enjoy, obviously being on an SSD feels great, but being on one you paid well under $1 per gig for (and one of the best brands imo), is just ICING!

well looks like crucial is on the verge of releasing a new series of SSD

Ordered 1 via Newegg this morning for 199.99 shipped, returned my Mushkin Chronos that I got from Amazon for 119.99 because it died after 1 week. Won 220 bucks at the casino last night so FREE ssd for me, lol.

was going to pm staples with my giftcard
guess i now have to wait lol

Keep waiting, prices are dropping like flies.

Yep. SSD prices should be under $1-per-GB by summer, and not just the asynch cheaper models. If you need an SSD then buy this as there's no reason not to, but don't buy it if you don't need it while under the assumption that you won't find a better deal. Cheaper deals will almost certainly be had.

I'm waiting for summer to buy a new laptop + SSD :D

Seriosly how low can SSD prices go? I still have a 120Gb Sandisk extreme that I picked up for $110 of buy.com but now there is no point in selling it because of constantly tumbling ssd prices.

Well, buy one if you need one but don't buy it just because it's a good deal. I read an analyst report earlier this year that said SSD prices were going to drop below the $1-per-GB mark by late summer. That report looks to have been a bit too conservative and we're nearing that mark already
