Update kicks ass. Server Browser kicks ass. Check for yes, X for no, blank for indifferent. It even has a region filter... hell fuckin yea.

Whoever said their FOV changed back to default...for the record mine stayed the same at 75 degrees. I have the steam version though.

40mm grenade has been lowered somehow. I think only the splash damage distance is affected...I still got a double kill with one tonight with 2 guys standing side by side.
M60 still spray and pray real well, but long distance accuracy seems nerfed...just like it should be.
Tracer Dart flies much faster and easier to tag choppers with.
 
whatttt?!?! are you guys serious about the GL? big nerf? longer resupply time?!?! it was already too long!!!
anyway I’m supposed to be very accurate with this thing so any reasonable nerf shouldn’t be a problem, I’ll see about it later when I go home, until that time…

M60 still OP. Think stationary gun got buffed. Kill enemy faster than before. Some buggy stuff i find are

-Screen lag right when you select "enter battle'
-Something is wrong with the control when parachuting down. Map like Nelson Bay if you're playing the attacker. Not sure if it's just me. Haven't try Port Valdez yet.
-Damage from 40mm are toned down.
-If you're on a mounted gun on a hummer. The control are a bit iffy too. Moving from left to right seem a bit longer than before.
 
Tracer dart is a POWER now. On Isla Innocentes each chopper the moment it appears above the hill get 2-3 tracer darts planted on it right away :) It might be even a bit overpowered now against choppers.

So, people use choppers on Isla Innocentes only as a fast transport to MCOMs and then immediatelly bails out.

I do not like and I do not drive choppers. Still, traccer dart is ridiculously overpowered now rendering choppers useles on HC servers. May be they should make choppers tougher and not to die from 1 rocket on HC servers?

Just played a quick round and can report my FOV has been kept at 90.

Perhaps those having problems are just those who insist on never running with Admin rights.

Gave the noobtoob a quick go and seems to be toned down a bit. Can't really tell though since I rarely use it. It seems that they've simply reduced the splash area. Definitely a good thing.

I'm having problem connecting to multiplayer games.
I have retail. I did create my ea account with new soldiers name.
After that I search for game and found like 50 games(asia) and when I try to connect to servers i get connection error with ping of 999 on all of servers.
What is going on.
 
Getting lots more CTDs. Had almost none before except when getting into vehicles sometimes, but now it occassionally CTDs when loading into a server.

Also, got a double kill with the 40mm in a non-HC server within a couple of seconds of joining (no explosives perks, either). Doesn't seem too bad.
 
The new server browser is quite lovable. GL does seem to be a tad weaker, I used to always get the damage "X" popup every time I fired at armored vehicles; now, not so much. QQ.

Increased the reload time of the Mortar Strike and reduced the damage it does to heavily armored vehicles.
Decreased the range of Bolt Action Sniper and Pump Shotgun Slug rounds when using Magnum Ammo for better Kit Balance, especially in Hardcore.
Slightly increased the Health of soldiers in Hardcore for better Kit Balance.

Increased the benefit from the Medkit Heal+ specialization to make it more desirable as a Specialization.
Decreased the benefit from Vehicle Reload Speed to balance it against other Vehicle Specializations.
Slightly decreased the benefit from accuracy specializations to balance the changes to range and accuracy tweaks.


Fixed a bug where the BMD3 would take extra damage to the front armor.
Reduced the explosive damage from Attack Helicopter cannons.
Increased the damage of AA guns against all targets. The AA gun should be much more effective against infantry on Port Valdez.

These changes will eventually make their way to the 360 and PS3 as we work with our partners Microsoft and Sony to continue to support BFBC2 on all platforms.

I like the look of most of those balance changes. Want to try out the M1 and M14 now to see if they've improved much.

Yeah, I would like to see what its like now. Personally I didn't really mind the gustav, as mainly noobs used it, though a couple of games I played against skilled people using it and oh my goodness it was frustrating. You'd turn around a corner, boom, dead, you follow a team mate too close and he steps out of cover, boom, dead, through some tiny gap in the trees you see a rocket coming at you, boom, dead.

Personally I think the Gustav should have a very small "kill" radius but a larger "wound" radius. Same with the 40mm.

I wonder if they fixed the all bronze insignia.

Ooo, I hope so. I really like semi auto rifles, so I was pretty disappointed when I first used the M1 and M14. I'd love it if you could put a better sight on them to aid in sniper killing.

There is a R7 client side update too, so yes. The R10 server release will be taken care of by the server admins. The client release should auto download in Steam or if retail then run the updater.
 
OMG did they ever fuck up the spawn interface. Laggy as hell; takes twice as long to spawn in now FOR THE ENTIRE ROUND not just the start.

FUCKING IDIOTS SHOULD HAVE LEFT IT ALONE. UNFUCKINGPLAYABLE!

Laggy spawning, what do you mean? The time delay it takes to spawn or bad performance once spawned?!
 
Had my first bad experience with a server admin last night. It was 4/20 and I was feeling great so I fired up BC2 (among other things) and decided to play atv-kamikaze.... I would load up C4 on my atv then just drive around till I saw enemies then roll it up to them and explode it. I was not doing this aimlessly, I was actually trying to destroy enemy vehicles and clear out gunfights, nor was I trying to kill myself (along with the enemy) although it did happen a few times. Near the end of the round my team had pushed the enemy back to the foot of the hill leading out of their spawn, so I aimed the bike in that direction and hopped off and blew up one guy, in epic fashion, I think my aim was so good that the bike would have killed him by running him over, but luckily I hit detonate a second before that happened. I was promptly kicked from the server, and was unable to log back in. There were no warnings saying I shouldn't have been doing what I was doing or anything, I was not spawn camping, in fact, that was the first time we had pushed them back that far, as I think they held the 2 of 4 bases close to their spawn for most of the match. I am just assuming that I took out a admin one too many times...

I generally don't use this method when I play, but as I said I was just having fun and I will say it was quite entertaining. Is c4 on the atv used as a guided land missle (lol) bad practice and looked down upon? Or did I just have my first experience of a shitty admin?

Maybe instead of going crazy like that,you could post your specs and see if we cant help you with your problem.
 
This is quite awesome, i cant wait to play tonight when i get home!

i normally use the M93, i love that handgun, it's nice that the damage has been slightly increased :)
 
Initially I couldn't understand why they nerfed the Quads.

Then I remember some of my Recon buddies taking out objectives with C4-loaded quads. Unstoppable.

You should also consider that the server might have crashed. It depends on the message you got when you were disconnected. Did it say Punkbuster or Lost connection to server or something along these lines. Rules and what servers allow will greatly vary from server to server. If you liked the server a lot the easiest thing is to track down their website.

I am not 100% sure on the exact wording but it was to the effect of "You have been kicked from this game." The server was still up and running and I was unable to log back into it (getting the same error after loading screen) so I just played on another server. Not really complaining about it, just stating it was the first time I have ever been admin rage kicked.
 
I get my words back that tracer darty is owerpowered. In Atacama Desert it is still pretty hard to tag the chopper. Map is huge and those military choppers flies fast. Still pretty difficult to tag them. On small maps though it is very easy.

I don't see anything wrong with what you did. There's no one correct way to play this game and unless there are certain rules that are posted at the beginning of a match I can't imagine any reasonable person banning you for just that, so I'd just chalk this one up to an admin with a stick up his ass.

I don't see anything wrong with the 40 or the rockets...Its ok with me. BUT I am sure the winers are just like in any other game, IF its not what I do its bs.

The only thing I don't see them fixing is the aimbots....5 star generals in the game now...BS
I watched one sniper jumping and running and all kinds of stuff across the map....Head shot 5 people along the way.

Some of the 5 star generals simply have a LOT of gaming hours... most over 400 hours each.

If you look at their SPM, many of them are in the high 200s with some in the 300s. Completely plausible as I have 255 SPM as a decent player (about 70 ace pins over 116 hours of playtime). Although I did see one guy have over 700 SPM, he probably got banned.

Best part of it was, I was laughing my ass off as well, whether I lived, died, killed an enemy, failure to explode (not sure if this is a bug?) or what, it was just great fun for an hour.

Thanks for the replies on this, just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something that is looked down upon (not talking about spawn camping...which I of course know is looked down upon).

I dont really mind if the tracer is easy to tag a slow moving chopper, though maybe they should make the chopper slightly tougher if that's the case.

To be honest I dont really mind having a couple of overpowered weapons like 40mm nades and CGs... it gives the noobs something to use when they're getting smashed. Its only frustrating when the skilled people starting using the noob weapons, making them damn near unstoppable. You need a couple of noob weapons and a couple of "deadly in the hands of a skilled user" weapons.

I'm all in favour of giving the crap new players something so they can remain competitive enough to actually stay in the game instead of just quitting after a few hours of getting raped by "skilled" players who have thousands of hours of FPSers under their belts.

In MW1 (after the initial hordes of players died out a bit) you could tell the crap players from the good players by the guns they'd use.
