I never payed to much attention to the CS 1.6 until I decided to replay the game a little after several years off. I looked into some of the top players. I was shocked at how fast and accurately these guys can react. They will take shots with no scope instantly and accurately to guys across an entire map. cs is a sad game. so tiny and repetitive. I would go nuts playing it for what? 12 years? more? ugh.

I would rather be fat alberts toilet. more variety.
 
Unbelievable the legs on counterstrike. At this rate, my kids will be playing CS (and I played during normal CS beta back in late 90s).
 
awp/ak/m16....all of those weapons are for the newbs. Try getting good with a gun no one uses.

Aye! Pump shotgun! So Satisfying when you kill someone with one.

I've never been into this whole gaming tournament/ league stuff. I enjoy playing multiple game just for fun too much to get serious about playing just one game.

In fact ever since my friends finally got steam and we started playing games together, I've learned to laugh more when I die and I've become more relaxed about gaming.

LOL. I called it the "klobby"... my friends hated when I spammed with that gun. About seven years ago when I played CS as my main game I used to always use the Mac-10 and TMP.

With lower power(both wattage and horsepower wise) computers becoming the new "fad" I wonder if the popularity of CS will grow...
 
All it is, is repitiion really , just like riding a bike. You do something long enough physically and mentally like play dust over and over and over again , you know all the angles , its like playing pool, there is a method to the madness.

Thanks for posting, brought back alot of memories of playing CS way back when.
 
I've mostly been using the pump shotgun and a little p90 since CS beta. I use pump in CS:S...the p90 just doesn't feel right. I usually have at least a 2-1 ratio with pump. Sometimes a lot higher in pure public games.
 
Those people he's playing against are shit-garbage. They're constantly getting first hit but none of them can make it count. That's unacceptable in cs. They must be nubs.
 
He sure does have skills.

But alas, CS is too old for me now, so I don't really care :p.
 
It's a pub, against complete baddies, so of course he's gonna look unreal. It is walle though so he can do that shit against the best in the world no problem. As far as raw aim and being insane gamers, I don't think anything can match the top Q3 players.

This guy has been playing for a long time in the clan considered to be sweden's second best, SK gaming, though his team actually just recently won the Extreme Master's Global Challenge in L.A. this weekend, in which pretty much all the best cs 1.6. teams of the world were attending. He is a good player but what is shown in this vid doesn't do him much justice to be honest, ALOT of cs players including myself on a good night can perform like that on a random DM server. Instead go watch demos from big events where much greater skill is displayed. Also walle though being a well respected top-player is not considered to be on the top10 list in the world if even top20. As this other said try searching vids with 'neo' or 'f0rest'.

If you're further interested go visit www.gotfrag.com for some cs1.6 coverage. It's very fun to watch the insane teams play at big events, and USA just got back in the game with 'Evil Geniuses' performing well as well as some other decent teams doing OK. Initially try searching for demos from the global challenge.

I'm going to have to agree with that. The best Q3/UT players are absolutely mind-boggling insane.
 
shitty game. running jumping and instanst scope with a perfect shot. stupd stupid..

CS needs to die a horrible death.

Still ALWAYS bothers me that they can fix the stupid M4 animations. Dude still pulls the forward assist which is just plain stupid.

Some of these videos people are shooting through walls at people they never saw.... wtf


Someone said something about them using n00b weapons. I'll say good when they do that stuff with the TMP or the MAC10
 
Ah, I still play CS. I never got Source, so I'm still back on 1.6. I've played since Beta and I still play from time to time. I use off-color guns as often as possible, my favorite combo being the Mac10 and Dual Baretta's. Its jsut very satisfying to pop some kid who's blown his load on an AWP or Colt or whatever. Often times I play DEagle only. Why spend money on guns, when the desert eagle .50 can handle the job?

I, too, have blindly killed people through walls, and I've been killed through walls. Most of that is just knowing good places to shoot through with the best chance of hitting people. People are fairly predicable, so if you watch long enough, you'll see a handful of places that people always choose to pause. Find a straight line through a wall, and then when you are on that map, fire a few rounds through the wall. You may get lucky, you may not. They may be firing back and kill you first, without ever seeing you.

Its a silly game, but its a great way to waste a few hours.

And I'm talking about the normal game, not some of these silly mods. I just like good ole fashion T vs CT.
 
One time he shoots the door at where the guy is on the other side of it, even though he can't see him...

Oh boy, I have to think back now. Around Beta 3? It was when maps like facility were around. I also remember this one map that was underground and you practically had to purchase night vision for it.
 
Played beta 2 all the way up. Quit about a year ago and don't really miss it.

There's a point at which too many player have figured out all the gimmicks to a game and can own anyone who hasn't also discovered the same tiny little nuances; Starcraft and CS hit that point years ago. I wish they'd both disappear and make room for new blood. (NOT sequels...ugh)

Which is one of the reasons I don't play CS. Anyone who has been playing for awhile will just put me back into Spectator quicker than I can buy a damn gun.
 
I'm sure the guy would be amazing at any FPS he played, but one thing that's always bothered me about CS and the HL1 engine is the *hugely* inaccurate, oversized hitboxes. The FPS competitive world would do itself justice by moving on from that engine and onto something a bit more accurate.
 
God, yeah. I used to play DoD a lot, and I played so damn much I had the system down pat. I'd always get hacker comments after I had mastered the strafe shot. People just did not grasp it whatsoever. I just randomly figured it out one day. Kar was the new AWP.

Never underestimate headphones. I got banned from my fair share of servers for "wallhacking" because I had a pair of Sennheisers on. People who only play with speakers or shitty headphones never understand exactly how accurately you can position people with good headphones.

Exactly. A quarter turn while listening to their footsteps tells you exactly where they are and gives you a general idea where they're going.
