+ google checkout makes it $109.99. I guess Im gonna order another set to make it 4 gigs. Can I use google checkout a second time now If I sign up using a diffrent email adress?

thanks op

Well yeah but....that is abusing google checkout though, since its supposed to be only used once per person. Kinda messed up taking advantage of a great company like google.

Ahh, beat me to it. Remember to knock another $10 off the final price with a coupon or google checkout:

$10 off $150 coupon: http://www.buy.com/retail/coupon.asp?prid=85634947 (coupon often works even if you are not a first time buyer)

$10 Google checkout 1st time buyers discount: http://www.buy.com/corp/promos/google_offer.asp?

$15 off $200 coupon: http://www.buy.com/retail/coupon.asp?prid=88301879

More coupons to try in case the others don't work:

Maybe try the $15 off $200 coupon i posted above?

Edit: lol, beaten to the punch again

Ya, was gonna say that i never had been denied before (YMMV ?), and i've shopped at buy.com many times. Gotten a ton of discounts with their coupons and credit card rewards points.

BTW, make sure there are no limitations with that mail in rebate, is it one rebate per household or?

I ordered my last set through newegg with a rebate aswell. But this one is through buy.com so i doubt there would be any kinda problem with two rebates from diffrent e-tailers.

Edit: sorry, just noticed you had already purchased your first set from newegg. Shouldn't be a problem then imho

But If you're only purchasing one set, then they'll probably deny you the $15 off $200 coupon, might have to use the $10 one instead.

Rebate says "limit one rebate per household". Just a heads up since you were buying 2 sets (4 gigs).

yea but my other rebate says 1 per household but it specifically says newegg.com while this one says buy.com. One is for $40 and the other is for $60 completely separate offers from separate retailers, I would hope this wouldn't be an issue although there both going to the same place.

edit: yea i just used the $-10 off one instead thanks.

Thanks for the coupon link, Jetski. $110 after MIR shipped .... damn.

anyone know much about that buy.com visa that says you can get $30 off?

anyone know much about that buy.com visa that says you can get $30 off?

I applied for one about a month ago to take advantage of that $30 off promotion, but it turns out that you don't get it immediately taken off your total. Instead they give you $30 credit on your next billing statement after you make the purchase. I personally don't think it's worth it because you have to pay the full price up front. Once I found this out I just called up Chase and told them to close out the account.

Plus the APR rates are through the roof, much higher than anything I have ATM. I think the Buy.com card is around 20% APR, while the two cards I have now are both around 7-9%. They did give me a $6000 limit though :D

The $30 off is a coupon voucher that gets emailed to you after you've been accepted. That means you should wait for the acceptance + coupon BEFORE you purchase, unless buy.com has changed things around...

Otherwise it's a basic credit card, no annual fees. You get $1 buy.com dollar for every $100 spent (1%), and you get $3 buy.com dollars for every $100 spent at Buy.com (3%).

Not sure about the current balance transfer offers, and i'm not sure about current interest rates but i don't often have a balance and interest rates are always negotiable in my book anyway ;)

Always wise to read the fine print before deciding

I bit, thanks OP. I created a new hotmail account just for another 10 dollars off, well worth it IMHO, so 109.99AR is pretty smoking.

Unless i'm misunderstanding something here, it would have been a whole lot easier (and ethical) to just use one of the $10 off coupons i posted above ;)

those coupons wouldnt work for me kept saying was removed from cart because I had used them already, I even logged out deleted all cookies pertaining to buy.com and when I would go to check out and log in as my name it would remove it from my cart. I ended up using googlecheckout with another email address.

LOL, just a an fyi about google checkout and "ethics". I placed an order which was denied due to having two confirmed addresses with my cc card. I received an email stating I needed to use another card or my order woud be cancelled. I logged into google checkout and just manually cancelled the order and received a cancellation notice. About a month or so later, the item was delivered. I contacted the retailer to let them know of the mistake and was adivsed I could keep the item free of charge due to the error on googles behalf, which was obviously quite nice of them. I then received an email from googles checkout team, stating that they accidentally sent me a cancellation notice (BS, I manually entered the cancellation - as the checkout indicated) and that they would be posting a charge to my card in the next few days. I then emailed them back, summating the retailers message to me. Googles checkout team replied with another form message stating they were going to charge me as they had accidentally sent the cancellation notice. The whole time my account was showing correct info of when I cancelled and I had made screen shots just in case, as I had heard many google checkout horror stories.

In short, they lied and then lied again. Finally I forwarded the email from the retailer and my attorneys address with a cease and desist notice. I have yet to hear back from them.

Personally I would say use that $10 off as many times as you like. If they cant figure out your not a new customer, thats their problem.

Google and ethics ....pfffff:rolleyes:

Fine and dandy, considering you were nearly the victim in that case, all that hassle and hardly your messup imho, glad it worked out in the end. Otherwise my post was for others who would somehow try to rationalize that "two wrongs make a right" etc etc, ad nauseum. Also if you re-read my post, i never stated anything about google being ethical.

My 2c

Hadn't thought of that

This is a hell of a deal, I'm tempted to buy two more gigs to go up to 4, but I don't know if I want to mix these with my OCZ PC8500 that I just for for $140 AR. Should have waited on those so I could just get 4GB of these tracers and have the LEDs.

Just to clairify, I didn't mean that to be directed at or against you and btw thanks for the support , not to mention the coupons, thank you VERY much. I agree why go through the google hastles if a click for a coupon takes care of it.

I was just posting an fyi in regards to googles checkout ethics, as they have none. I agree, two wrongs don't make a right, etc., I just wanted to point out that imho, googles checkout team has very poor customer service skills, not to mention what they were attempting to do was illegal and fraudulent.

This is a good deal but, theres cheaper out there. For me these would be the last sticks id want. I dont need some useless lights shining out of my case keeping me awake at night.

There's cheaper out there than $110 AR that overclocks like this? Please do link.

Well that and that newegg deal for pc2-8000 for $90AR recently. Those gskill hz's I believe are $115 or less with no rebate, or were anyways.

Last week's 85-dollars Ballistix 2GB PC8000 is definitely hotter than this. Well, that deal only lasted for a couple of hours. 35 Dollars for a couple of LED lights? That's a no for me.

I just bit on it, will you guys quit tellin me there are better deals :) I like LEDs

There are LED's on the top in the center and along the bottom that connects to the motherboard. You cannot turns these off, but they actually look quite nice I think.

Was that $85 shipped AR? And wasnt the rebate for $100? either way this deals smoking, Im not a big fan of the lights but I dont have a side window on my case so it really doesnt matter plus the leds extremely useful when troubleshooting and overclocking.

Strange, I cant even find them on crucial page. It looks like they were removed. Thats odd.

does anyone know if I can get this rebate if I ordered the 1066 crucial tracer bc on both rebate form says one rebate crucial tracer memory kit per household. THanks in advance

You should be fine. Per the language of the rebate form "Limit one rebate per eligible Crucial Ballistix Tracer memory kit per household."

An eligible Crucial Ballistix Tracer memory kit is defined on the rebate form as : "Crucial Technology Ballistix Tracer 2GB kit, part #BL2KIT12864AL1005 from www.buy.com" and the other kit you purchased is another part number that is NOT eligible for this rebate.

I'm surprised more people aren't jumping on these. I don't know where they're seeing hotter deals than $110 AR for expensive memory like this.
