Dell 2707WFP Released

Hummm ..yeah the 30" is around $1275 and this 27 isn't listed under monitors when I go to their main site. So maybe its just on their upgrade option page? Crafty buggers!

Is it available in black,I hate silver. It is too $$$ considering the price of the 30".I have seen the 30" in person and was very very impressed with it.When I saw it,it was running "Innocence" full screen  Just wow....

Hmmm... I doubt this is official. Actually, if you go through the steps it also says it only comes with a 1 year warranty -- I really hope this isn't final, and that Dell isn't going to start charging to extend the warranty beyond 1 year.

Edit: actually, dMb, where did you get the link to this? I don't see it advertised on any of the other monitor pages, I don't think this page is supposed to be up yet...

i just searched for 2707WFP. i couldnt find it in thier product listings, so i thought i'd search for the manual at least, and the search took me directly to that page. i seriously hope they do something to lower that price, cause its way too high. 400 more than the samsung?

Looks like it's only sold as part of a system build for now....as long as they keep it overpriced I don't care if it's ever sold separately.

What is the contrast ratio? What are the built in components? Does it have component? HDMI? It may be vastly improved.

I'd wait for full info.

If it's another Dell in the line of the old ones it wouldn't be exciting, but if it's one of the new monitors with 3000:1 contrast, then yes, sorry to say but it would be a good buy.

Only shred of justification I can see for the cost is the wider color gamut.

We just bought 2 3007 here this last week off eBay for $1175 shipped. This makes three we now have that have come through ebay flawlessly.

27" has a .303 pixel pitch. The The 30 has a .250 and the 24 has .270. I would get the 30 looking at this offhand.

They are insane. This thing dosn't even have an hdmi input and only one dvi. That price should keep there sales down.

This is completely ridiculous.

I would have bought one today if was priced fairly, but $1399!?!? What the hell is Dell smoking?

Considering a bunch of other companies are in the process of releasing similar offerings like the viewsonic 28 inch with hdmi for 879, I don't know how they got that price.

Dell already posted them in their menu config so its now official. I guess that the price of the 27 is way to much cause they haven't added many units to their production

Agreed, I'd expect to see that price drop pretty quickly, especially considering the Samsung will only be $999.

Way too high. I'm in the market for something larger and the 27" seemed like the perfect fit. That is not priced even close to what I was expecting. Looks like a 30' is on the way to my desk.

That's retarded that the superior 3007 is less expensive. I guess we're just in bizarro-world today!

I think the price is just the official retail listing. It should come down very soon.
Original pricing is always high then it comes down so you think you're getting a bargain looking at the old price next to the new "low" price.

Even as the "official retail" price it's still high compared to $999 retail for the Samsung 27 inch and $879 retail for the Viewsonic 28 inch. Granted, you'll probably find better discounts on the Dell, but it would need nearly a 30% discount to be competitive price-wise. Unless there's something amazing about this monitor that Dell hasn't told us, I really don't see any justification for the price. I find the lack of HDMI or at least a second DVI input pretty disappointing.

Hey Dell.... Barack Hussein Obama called, he wants his crack cocaine pipe back.

Can we at least expect that some of the problems which have plagued Dell's LCD lineup are going to be fixed, like the 1:1 scaling problem? Since it's being advertised as a near-HDTV, you would think it would *at least* support 1:1 in 1080p, unlike the 2407...

If Dell's releasing yet another glitch-filled monitor, then the price tag is even worse by comparison. I can't wait to see some more extensive reviews.

what's that smell....................*sniff* shit! Must be one of those price mistake to make up for all of those other price mistake.

its the retail price, expect massive discounts and 30% coupons to bring it around the 800 range soon. I think its more expensive because of all the inputs, however a deal breaker is no hdmi. Whats up with that? oh well i still got my westy 37 and my 2007.

i would say not having a hdmi port wouldnt be too bad if they at least had a second dvi port, cause then you could just use a dongle. but the lack of other digital inputs is pretty dissapointing...

Agreed. PS3 already has HDMI and the second coming of the Xbox 360 is supposed to have it as well, not to mention HD-DVD/Bluray players. Considering all this, I was hoping some combination of two digital inputs (2 DVIs, DVI + HDMI, or 2 HDMIs) would be the standard now so that you could connect one of these devices in addition to a PC, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

whoa wtf? it went up ANOTHER $200????

http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=ca&l=en&s=dhs&cs=CADHS1&sku=255-0479

its listed at 1599. they've got to be kidding  .....

edit: wait, nm. still listed the same on some other pages. dont know why that one still says 1600...
Dell has different prices for the same thing depending on what page you're on and where you accessed from....they have a maze of different sites.

example- I know that the 2007WFP is still $359 but if you access the erong page you get to pay $399.:p

1 x DVI and no (i.e. 0) HDMI ????????
.... and nothing about 1:1 scaling.......

Dell must have really rushed Samsung to make this thing as fast as possible.....
