Edit: I see the ouya does support 4 controllers. Awesome.
Now has anyone tried 4 controllers with any N64 titles like Mariokart?
This little box has some awesome potential for emulation
If you can use Ps3 controllers, i'm sold.
Is there still input lag from the controller to the box? I remember reading about input lag, which really would put a damper on the fun-ness
Yes, I've got two of mine paired.
No, and if I remember correctly this was game specific, not the OUYA itself. There's no more lag on this console vs. any other console wireless analog controllers from what I've seen. Granted just use the PS3 controllers and be happy anyway. Technically speaking we should be able to use PS4 controllers as well, which happen to have a touchpad, which I'm excited about. Because I'm sure that'll be a much better build quality than the OUYA and still give me the damn pad.
The OUYA controllers are OK except for the D-pad which is AWFUL and severely hampers the ability to play most games, particularly emulated ones. The biggest issue is that UP almost always registers as RIGHT, so going up ladders/vines becomes very difficult I have 2 controllers and this happens on both.
How does the D-pad compare to the Xbox/Xbox 360 controllers? Worse?
Can you download Android apps to it? Like, could I download the Netflix app and use that?
Very cool. I will get on then. I'm excited to play through some of my old PS1 & N64 games. I'd just hook up the consoles, but none of my displays have the rca ins.
Looks like yes:

I've been using the USB cable to transfer files. It connects to your laptop or desktop just like a phone. I have a HTPC, so I just leave a cable there, drag and drop files as needed.
Should be the same for apk's
I've read the n64 emulator runs bad. Truth?
Looking at your pictures/videos; it will upscale to 1080 most of time?
Has anyone used the Twitch.tv app on a Ouya? If it runs well and is decent I would pretty much be sold. I know Twitch made the iOS app useless so I would want to see some user reviews of the Android version.
The twitch app is just as useless on android. Unless they have changed it recently. I stream myself, so that's part of why I'm interested in it. Have to get a Hauppauge or capture card for your computer (?).
Mine went back to google, the whole thing felt laggy no matter what emu or game and it's very rough around the edges software wise.
Since when was Google involved with the Ouya?
Since this guy never had an OUYA and just wanted to feel included in the conversation...
Since when was Google involved with the Ouya?
That or he mailed it to Google and they opened the box and scratched their heads.
Amazon, it was an obvious typo.
I know, but it's funny to imagine.
OUYA SuperGNES = The Shit!
This thing is awesome, I hope they refine the shit out of it.
As you can see I can consolidate the fuck down on all of my stuff. That and my new TV doesn't have composite inputs for my old gear anyway. So I emu'd them up.
Stuff I'd like to see the OUYA team address. Here's what I've got so far.
- Add Plex, Netflix, Hulu Plus and Amazon Prime Instant (well, by add I mean get them on board)
- Improve controller Bluetooth (might be faulty hardware on this one, weak signal it seems, or I just have a bad unit)
- Improve caching/loading speeds in "Discover"
- Make app/game images selectable for larger view
- Fix USB storage (hopefully by launch), 8GB just doesn't cut it. I'm also sad that they now have a 16GB model, I would have ordered that instead. I digress.
- A built in file manager would be nice, though I could live with 3rd party (i'd like to keep my device non-rooted forever)
- List purchase history in "Account"
- Remove "MAKE" from the main screen (i.e. make it an option you need to enable somewhere instead)
- Remove "Sandbox" from "Discover" (i.e. make it an option you need to enable somewhere instead). Lots of that stuff is broken, does not need to be up front. Should need to be enabled by users who know what they're looking for.
Also, this game is awesome:

lol, and Ice Rage isn't half bad for a simple "trip a bitch" hockey game. We got plenty of laughs out of it.
I've spent a whopping $7~ bucks on apps/games so far. lol
I see a lot of people running emu's on this. A 30 dollar used Dreamcast has done this for a long time. Or a modded original Xbox also real cheap. I don't see this even becoming very popular. 99 bucks better spent elsewhere. If I wanna game on a Tegra 3 I'll use my nexus 7 and I can take that with me even have a Bluetooth controller for It i got on clearance for 5 bucks specifically for the Tegra 3.
The EMU's are crap IMO. They are so unresponsive.
I tried the ouya controller, which is a huge piece, PS3 and Xbox360 controllers and i couldn't get rid of the lag. It's like the processor isn't fast enough. You can't go into a spastic rage of swords in Zelda or a tailspin in the Tanooki suite.. it just doesn't work. The game can't process the button inputs. Switch over to the real console and the difference is night and day. It's starting to get expensive buying one-off rare SNES games so I was really praying the Ouya would be great. Sadly, it isn't.
I think for a lot of people just "collecting" and having the ROMs while being able to play them in any fashion is the fun. I also felt the Ouya emulation quality was crap, especially the control responsiveness and the audio quality.
I think the responsiveness issue is just the console, most of the Ouya native games feel sluggish too.
