I'm looking to buy a new PSU since my current Corsair 650W PSU just died.

Here is my setup:

i5 4670K (soon to be OC to 4.0-4.4GHz)
ASRock Z87 Extreme4 Socket LGA
Zalman 320 cooler
2 1TB Harddrives
1 DVD drive
no GPU yet, but I plan on buying a top of the line card in a year or so (or 2nd best card).

Which PSU should I get? I'm on a budget so I don't want to spend too much but I don't want a cheap PSU either.

A good quality power supply in the 550-650 watt range. Are you looking to buy immediately? Budget?

I'm looking to buy within the next 4 weeks. My budget is $75-$110 or so. I was under the impression I needed at least 750 watts or so, especially if I will be overclocking (just the CPU, not the GPU).

No single card is going to consume that much power.

750 is for a mildly overclocked LGA1150 SLI/crossfire system (both CPU and GPUs overclocked), not single GPU.

And yes, 4.0-4.4 is a mild overclock for a 4670k.

550 watts is all you need. Look for the best bang/buck you can find in the 550-650 range.

I'm thinking of going with the SeaSonic 750W Power Supply X750 Gold from the egg after reading the hardocp review on the 850w version.

Can the same review from the 850w version be applied to the 650 and 750 watt versions of the psu? There is a $10 difference between the 650 and 750 versions so might as well go for the 750 version as everything that I have read says that psus will lose some efficiency per each year.

Yes, it can be applied to the other versions since they're on the same platform. $150 for the x750 is far from a good value on that power supply though, it's been as low as $100 before.

I would wait a week or two if at all possible before buying a power supply, as there are absolutely no good values right now.

Edit: Forgot to address one other thing. Efficiency has nothing to do with power output, which is what power supplies are rated at. Additionally, the efficiency drop on a power supply is on the order of .01% a year. What you're actually concerned about is maximum power output dropping. A quality power supply might lose 10 watts in 6-7 years. Basically, overcompensating to account for PSU aging is plain stupid.

SeaSonic SS-660XP2 if you can find it on sale. They get down to around $110, but even at $150 it's worth it if you can afford it. I remember seeing teardowns of the X750 and X850 and they are mostly the same. I have all 3 but I haven't bothered doing any testing on them. They have all been reliable/quiet and fairly heavily loaded.

I picked up the 660XP2 around 7 months ago on sale for $80 after MIR which took a few months but I did get it.
Rock solid rails, I have it on hybrid fan and with Haswell has yet to need to turn on it runs so cool.
Helps it's bottom mounted in a Lian-Li, no rising air.

I ended up getting the Seasonic X-750 because it's super quiet and because I plan on keeping it for a long time. Also I read that psus are more efficient when working in the 50-65% load range.

Wow. You might be right about the G-series.
The price on Newegg for the 650HX was like $140.

The original 650HX certification on 80 PLUS shows "Bronze", I can't even find any of the gold listings on their site.

Also, Newegg didn't re-list the PSU so it's still showing old reviews. Now I'm thoroughly confused.

Here's another G-650W unit:

Full modular, hybrid fan (FDB).

edit // Corsair HX750 is $89.99 right now on Newegg
