When does Intel usually announce their products?

Do they announce their release dates basically on the day that they ship. 4-5 days? a week? a month? I'm getting anxious since i plan for my next build to have Sandy Bridge-Ex or Bulldozer (depending on performance and price) and i haven't built a machine since my q6600 + 8800 GTS 512 (92).

I wish I could give you a hard and fast rule on how we announce the release of product. Of late we have been trying to do a hard release of products. That means that when we announce the release they are at the distributors ready to be shipped out.
 
What seems to happen in practice is that rather than intel announcing information directly to the general public they pass it to partners who then leak it out..
 
BTW Plugwash you know that next month we are going to release a .......... oh never mind. More then half the stuff that I read about us that is leaked (per say) doesnt have any bases in reality.
