Ultra Slow Boot

My neighbor convinced me to "fix" her computer, it was running extremely slow and booting slow. Here is what i have done so far:

Spyware removal with Adaware, MS Spyware Removal, Spybot S&D: total items removed 1700ish.

Disabled All non necessary start up services

Defragged Harddrive.

After all of this it still takes upwards of 2 minutes to get to the Windows Boot screen, with hte green shit going across. Any ides why?

Hm. Try CCleaner too.

It may just be wayy too slow hardware-wise. The biggest bottleneck these days is still the harddrive. If it's an ancient 5400RPM drive, upping it to a 7200RPM would make it a load faster. And bumping up memory too.

But that's, of course, if you want to spend money.

How full is her hard driver and what are the start-up items ?
