Trackpoint question

In the past, red Thinkpad caps did fit the trackpoints on some HP Elitebooks but had some problems. If I remember correctly, the thinkpad caps were too tall for the ##40w series Elitebooks.

To be quite honest, the Lenovo trackpoint is the best trackpoint in every way. The Dell and HP trackpoint rubbers just aren't as good in terms of texture.
 
Alright good enough for me. The blue ones don't look like they would fit right.
 
Get some replacement caps and try painting them with some tool dip from your local hardware store. No guarantees about whether it'll last, but it's worth a shot...
 
What's tool dip?

edit: I found it, plastidip. I wonder how think the cover will be though. Anyone have any experience with this stuff?
