I wanted to share a simple way of getting the mac-like throbbing LED that works on any computer, all it takes is an electrolytic capacitor and a diode.
Place a diode between the motherboard header positive and capacitor positive terminal, with the band towards the capacitor side, then connect the LED to the capacitor while observing polarity, and tie all the negatives together. The higher the capacitor value, the longer the fade, and vice versa. 3500 to 7000uF seems to be a good range.
