I'm upgrading my system, and I'm wondering if my socket A cooler will fit an AM2 CPU? I've looked around a bit, but i've come up with different answers. Just looking for a definite yes or no.

Also, if not, what would be a cheap, yet quiet cooler for an AM2 (4600+ x2) system that will see very little overclocking? I'd prefer something that had a controllable fan speed as well.

Only thing i've found so far is this, but newegg doesn't sell it.

I highly doubt it. I am pretty sure Socket A used the clips to hold the cooler in place and I know that AM2 uses 4 screws into the motherboard...

A good cheap cooler is the A64FreezerPro (I think those are AM2 compatible)

He is planning to use the AM2, so the Freezer 7 is a no go.

Application:
All Intel Celeron (Socket 775)
All Intel Pentium 4 (Socket 775)
All Intel Pentium D
All Intel Core 2 Duo
Core 2 Extreme Quad

There is an am2 version of that cooler setscrew, it is actually cheaper too!
