Skype Updates Now Available Through Windows Update

The Skype partnership with Microsoft is beginning to reap benefits for Skype users. With Skype being integrated into more Microsoft products, it was only natural to include it into Windows Update.

Skype now joins a very exclusive set of applications that update through Windows Update, with essentially all other items being core Windows features and Microsoft products like Microsoft Security Essentials.

i wouldn't mind if i could update most of my apps thru windows update...compared to ubuntu i spend 15x more time updating windows apps.

That's what they said about Flash but 11.4 still isn't available for Win8's IE and you get stuck with the vulnerable 11.3 version.

Is Windows Update the new Microsoft "app store"? (At least for updates)
Windows 8 will report all of the programs you have installed on your computer, this would be the next logical step

i want them to turn Skype into a true business friendly App allowing GPO policies and other things to limit the client and it's usage with in a business environment.
