Radeon 9800 Pro stock cooling

Just a quick question:
What kind of thermal interface does ATI use? Would switching to AS3 or 5 give any improvement? This is just for the time being until I can add a GPU waterblock.

its a sticky pad, i removed the heatsink on my 9700pro scraped off the pad and replaced it with as3 before it ever made it into my case.

On the 9800 Pro, it's some kind of thick silver color paste. I am sure AS is much better then OEM
