Ok so my roomate has a old nitendo he brought in. And we have been sitting down wondering how it works. I looked online and cannt find the answer so does anyone know why the lightgun works?

Lightguns work because it is completely in sync with your TV's refresh rate. The lightgun senses when the specific pixel it is pointed at is updated and by referencing it with the refresh, it knows exactly what part of the screen it is pointed at.
If this still holds true (Hey, i was just a kid then, i can't verify that now!), then lightguns wouldn't work with LCD screens, projectors included.
black isnt a type of light,its absence of light so its the oppisite the screen turns black and shootable target turns whiteKomataguri said:Actually, on the NES lightgun.
