Yea, I saw that on the site at one point, but hey R9 290's DO exist. Woot!!!
Just wish I knew how much they will cost. I'm guessing $399 maybe $499. If it's $399 I'm gettin one if
$499 I'll pass and goes with the 280x. $100 bucks goes further today than 6 years ago.

Do they usually launch at midnight PST?
I noticed the 290x and 290 at Newegg have a VGA Replacement Only Return Policy
yet the 280x are Standard Return Policy.
Interesting.
Mid November is when specialized coolers are suppose to show up for 290X

actually late November, I wish AMD wouldn't even bother with their reference coolers. You would think we would be over the era of making graphics cards sound like hair dryers on full blast.
Ugh. I don't know if I can handle 1 month of playing BF4 at 25fps lol.

yeah the reference cooler is loud, but aftermarket coolers just blow the hot air right into your case
doesn't affect me personally, but if i was on air, i'd be hoping AMD would take apart the titan/780 ref. cooler and learn from their design
I can't believe some of the 270X are $220 while the Powercolor Myst was $150 a couple days ago.
Not to mention a 7950 is $190.
The sticker shock is going to be pretty bad for you for the R9 290/290x, it's not looking too good even here in the US.

$540 is a tough pill to swallow when you consider it's just short of buying two 280x cards.
If this is true for a 290 then I'm done. Looks like an Asus or Sapphire 280x with the 6400 mem for me:

Yeah, I was just gonna point that out as well. 290X for $599 is a no brainer. I won't even think twice about buying.
