Do you think this would be a good supercombo deal from newegg? I am looking to build a modestly decent/inexpensive computer to replace the old P4 system I am currently using for light gaming/vmware testing/general use:

It's a decent deal, but I'm sure that someone (with a lot more patience that I have right now) could come along and build you something a bit better for around the same price.

It's fine for light gaming and "general use," but for VMWare, I'd recommend a tri-core or a quad-core and at least 4GB of RAM to minimize any performance loss while running multiple VMs.

It's not bad at all but it's kind of average. It would be a nice upgrade if you've been on the same machine for a few years.

DDR2 prices look to never fall again and DDR3 being the same price. Its the better option.
